Wlad has 3 defences of the title. The belts he held before were not 'the' world title. If that was the case, Ottke would be regarded as one of the longest reigning world champions ever which does a disservice to those who fought great fighters.
    3 paper titles. Next.
Since becoming world champion, Wlad has knocked out Chambers and Peter and didn't stop Haye. 2 knockouts in 3 fights.
Holmes beat poor opposition. Unlike Wlad, he beat them all.

I said "beat great fighters", you mentioned Tyson because you don't think he did beat any greats. Holmes and Spinks are, which is why I didn't read this nonsense.

I think I have him number 12 from the top of my head.

Any fighter who at any point is time is deemed by me to have been the best in their division is labelled by me as "a great"

Regarding wlad, for the last 6 years running he's been the best hw on the planet; hardly anyone can compete with that.

Who can? Holmes from 78-85 I can think of but who else?

Louise was, imo, the best from the max rematch until he left for the army.

    Johnson from 1905-1911

    Dempsey from 1918-1923.

    Sullivan from 82-88.

    Jackson from 88-92.

Anyone else of note who racked up a real reign of 5 years or more consecutively?

If nothing else wlad has been a dominant force and that's the basis of my ranking him high.

Silencer, I can't reply to you. I don't have an issue with you personally and I don't like to say this but please don't reply to me again. It's just pointless. You always do the same things. You don't address points, you deflect the issues, you post huge pictures and you rant about nothing. I can't debate with you at all.

If someone wants to form a logical argument, go ahead.

No, I don't rate Byrd higher.

Like I said, name me one fighter who never beat a great opponent and has lost to poor opposition, and yet is considered a great fighter.

Tyson beating Holmes and Spinks counts because they were, despite not being at their absolute peak, great fighters.

    Just one name.

Are you going to be that disingenuous? Really? Even though we disagree, I thought you seemed like a decent poster too. Shame.

I think it's clear what happened. One person posted a logical, well balanced argument whereas the other ranted and posted pictures.

    Excellent post. :good

If time machines existed, Wladimir could prove he is one of the best by going back and fighting Louis, Dempsey, Ali, Frazier, Holmes and the others, and beating most of them.

But such machines have never been invented.

The poll result gives us a good idea what most people think: over 70% rate Wladimir between #6 and #20, with a few ranking him higher or lower.

If he continues to win for another few years, most people will place him solidly in the top ten.
