The Klit lickers need to STOP with the buffonery.

IIRC, Tyson had "only" 27 pro fights when he collected his first title. Holyfield had what, 17? Using the Klit lickers "logic", both Tyson and Holyfield should be considered "green" when they lost their first fights considering they were both below 41 professional fights.

Currently top 15. If he keeps his streak up and retires undefeated for the rest of his career he's a lock top 10 HW.

Good point. I always say that Larry Holmes is the most overlooked fighter of my lifetime (I'm 35); sandwiched between Ali and Tyson.

Maybe Wlad will be the place sitter between Lewis and an exciting fighter. One can hope.

I was thinking more like Chamber, Brock, and Haye, with Valuev, Brewster and Byrd exchanging titles between losses, similarly to the 60s, 70s, early 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.

The last time in history we has a dominant champ for more than 5 yrs consecutive was the 50s:-( Wlad will likely continue until more than 10yrs, which would be unprecedented.

And having watched over 300 black and white fights, I can say that Julius Long would be considered the absolute GOAT 555(555KOs)-1(DQ) had he fought pre 1960.

Nobody in this thread said Wladimir was "green" - someone was just using the strawman fallacy.

I did say he wasn't at his BEST - in other words, he hadn't reached his peak - until 2006. He made some adjustments and became a better fighter.

That is not the same as saying he was "green" before that - he was a heavyweight titleholder with an excellent amateur pedigree, obviously not green.

Wlad is *still* not a champion. Never has been.

Wlad doesn't crack the top ten of any list compiled by someone with 1/2 of a functioning brain cell.

His absolute BEST win to date is the first Byrd fight which came *before* your 2006 timeframe. He hasn't beaten a HW of note since. When was the first Byrd fight? Nearly 10 years ago?

And this argument is based on what exactly? His quality of opposition since 2006? Can't be that seeing as he's only fought **** opposition since being KO'ed by Brewster.

Your Klit licker "logic" falls flat on it's face when you look @ the FACTS. Wlad's best win is the first Byrd fight which happened WELL before your 2006 time frame.

I think an argument can be made that Wlad is a better *protected* fighter since 2006 as opposed to being a better fighter. Especially when you consider the quality of his opposition since then.

Ok, seeing as he was not green, how then do you explain the Sanders and Brewster losses? Why should Wlad recieve a lofty ATG status against the backdrop of those losses?

    Please explain.

cool man everyone has their own opinions..i like his style i like what he puts into it.people just think its the jab.but the footwork and ring managment is brilliant..it wasnt even his match making that was poor from his managment but they obviously didnt do any homework on the guys..i know ive said it before but i still to this day cant wrap my head around a man with his atributes deciding to not use them against a dangerous (albeit limited) southpaw who can slugg..and his loss to purrity how no1 seen that coming is beyond me ffs he would have needed a truck to knock him out that night..thats one thing i dislike about wladimir he takes an extra 2 rounds to finish off his opponents..be it for money reasons or as you say over cautiousness only he knows

I put him in top 5, assuming everything stays status quo. He proved he can come back after a seemingly career ending string of defeats to be dominant to the point no body in history can claim to have been more so. Just in terms of legacy and complete and utter dominance over his peers, not many are as high as Wlad.

Head to head, that's a different story. But that wasnt the question.
