Where has the love-in for Mitchell and the hatred for Burns come from?

I don't see any hatred for Burns. Just people can see that hes shot now.

Issue stemmed for Blobby Nelson making cringe worthy statements about how amazing Burns was and being ridiculously wrong.

 

I think its because Mitchell on his day looked like he could do much more. Ricky hit his limit. I'm actually a fan of both and Billy Nelson but i really do feel mitchell could have done much more.

 

From what i hear Ricky absolutley smashes Mitchel week in week out in sparring ,Which is baffling me as to why rickys been poor in his recent fights

 

mitchell is better just likes the beers and cocaine too much.

 

It's boxing fans, although I thought it would have been more likely casual fans but no it appears not.....it's whoever is in flavour....Burns has looked Rubbish whilst Mitchell has been steadily progressing and achieving! :huh

 

Well I don't buy Mitchell was better in any shape or form, Ricky was to fit and strong for him by along way. Mitchell has skills but has the George Groves problem, he cant take a shot, when he stands and trades against good opponents he finds out he has not got strength for world level. Great to watch at British/European level but world level no. Kastidas who has never been beyond fringe world class done him in 3, and Ricky who cannot knock out a fart done him in 4, says it all (the fart comment might be a bit unkind but Rickys KO record is very low), regardless of that Ricky was a couple of levels above him, now I doubt he is better than Mitchell. Regardless fact remains Ricky was at a level Mitchell has never been at and wont get to

 

thats mitchells problem, burns is just tougher and bigger. but i'd fancy mitchell to pull something wicked out in a world title fight that burns cant. both got there strengths though. mitchell a wildcard though, prefer to watch him.

 

Mitchell won't win a world title which is something Ricky has done twice, Don't get me wrong I like Kevin and he comes across well but he's had 2 chances and been stopped early in both.

 

I think Mitchell is better to watch too

Interesting you mention Burns & sparring.

We constantly hear about just how good Burns has been looking in sparring in the lead up to fights (Billy's said it, Sim's has said it, lad's he's been in the gym with have said it, Burns has said it).

The jist I get from that is he's looking superb behind close doors, but just not putting it together under the big lights on fight night.

Now Burns wouldn't be the first to have that to happen to him - but that tells you that he's either trying to hard to impress or a confidence issue.

As Mitchell is brought up here, I'll use him as an example. Against Mitchell, Burns used all his advantages.. his jab was a weapon, he threw the right hand fluidly, he wasn't jumping in with his shots. In recent fights, he seems to be over reaching with the jab and falling in with his shots.

As a fan of Ricky and having met him & seeing what a truly nice guy he is, I really hope he can get his career back on track - I don't think we'll ever see him as Ricky Burns "the world champion" again, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

 

I personally think he's trying too hard to impress, Against Kevin he boxed beautifully and used the jab caught Kevin with a flush left hook and it was over the same shot he caught Leppelley with on Saturday aswell, But since then he's tried to come in thinking he was a puncher sitting down on his shots trying to fight inside with guys and not using his strengths anymore.

 

I tell you now Ricky beats any form of Kevin all the time, he simply has his measure.
Kevin is a top lad and a top fighter all the same
