The hype of any fighter is bound to die down a bit after their first defeat. Pavlik was over rated by some - the ones who claimed he would clear out 160-175 but he is still a good fighter with a bright future if he isn't to mentally scarred by the Hopkins defeat. This defeat will be a good test of Pavliks charector and his mental strenth. If he has the pride and will to learn from his mistakes then this defeat could be the making of him and he could come back a better, more complete fighter. I think what most objective fans could see before the Hopkins fight, and what has become blatantly obvious since the Hopkins fight, is that if you stand in front of Pavlik and brawl, you will lose (i.e. Miranda). If you are a bit more inteligent and slicker but still untimately fight in straight lines you will give Pavlik a bit of trouble but he still has enough skills to overcome you (Taylor). But if you takle away Pavliks right hand (move to Pavliks left, away from his big right hand so as he has to punch across himself) and you create angles for your own punches and use a lot of lateral movement instead of just moving forwards and backwards then you will give Pavlik fits. Even if Pavlik learns nothing from the defeat he is still a good fighter. Baring a flush punch to the chin by the heavy hitters like Abraham, Froch, Diacanu, i can only really see fighters like Calzaghe, Hopkins and Dawson thoroughly out boxing and beating Pavlik and its no great shame to lose to those men.
Sorry, i forgot about Kessler. He beats Pavlik to. Not by neccasarrily out boxing him like Hopkins did or Calzaghe or Dawson might but i see Kessler as similar to Pavlik but slightly better in most catergorys so he should prevail for that reason alone(i.e. strenth, power, speed, technique).
we are still here watching fools like you saying bull****...kelly lost one fight and i am reading everyday the bull**** people like you put on here..he lost so what..and he lost to a great ..chalk it up to experience ..he will be back from what i hear in feb and all you so call fight fans (half of u talk out your ass like u)will see kelly pavlik is back...so i will just sit here and read the stupid **** u write and.........laugh.
Before the fight I had told myself I needed to get more done and stay off this site more. The hate just helps.
I think Pavlik is going to have a great career ..But i'm glad that Hopkins beat him so soundly so that all the people who dubbed him the next great thing and who had him p4p all could stfu !! Its a little more saner here now that Pavlik lost in that manner ..
me too ..lol just read and laugh at how many think they know what their talking about and i realize that they want to think they know what they are talking about
Kelly did something that I believe only 3 other fighters ever did. He won a world title in boxings second oldest division while still undefeated, and he did it by knocking out the guy who beat BHop TWICE. Haglar lost two fights to guys who aren't qualified to wash Bernard's socks before he even sniffed a world title, and he lost those fights at 160, not 170. When Marvin did get his shot he ended up with a draw against a guy BHop would have embarassed as badly as he embarassed KP. When Mavin finally won the title he took it from Alan Minter; a fighter Jermain Taylor would have thrashed. Kelly will be fine. He has a great career ahead of him. And by the way, The Pavlik Express is still rolling down the tracks. If you play this vid, you'll see Arthur Abraham trying desparetely to get the **** out of the way! [YT]hWToJxKYRSc[/YT]
he was out classed by a master boxer, so what.edison could not do it, taylor could not do it.joe was scared to try to do it.i dout arthur could do it either.hell im convinced only hopkins could do it, becuase so far hopkins has been the only one to do it.
Obviously he still has delusional fans even after this ass whoooooping. He still STILL overrated. The train took a big jolt, but it will soon be derailed for good.
Joe was never scared and Arthur would KTFO Pavlik. Wait and see. Said it before. Its gonna happen again, much worse next time.
