It is also very disrespectful to Hopkins who fought better than he has in years.

You'd never guess this is a 'fan' site.:-( When you get Edison Miranda's promoter on here for the express reason of disrespecting another fighter you have to wonder......

Dude, seriously? What about you? 90% of your posts are about how great Miranda is and 10% how bad Kelly is. Hypocrite, I believe so!

Well, in all fairness, a promoter's job is to promote his fighter. Though that is not usually done anonymously.

I know what you mean bro. What I really don't get is this: Kelly fought sick and injured. Team Pavlik had discusions about postponing the fight over the elbow injury, and another round of similar discusions over the bronchitis. Kelly would not hear it. He was not willing to disappoint the fans. He fought an all time great, 10 pounds north of the middleweight limit, while sick and injured. Now he's a bum that got exposed and his career is over. How ****ing lame is that?

Styles make fights, but the fact remains that KP beat Taylor twice, and Taylor beat Hopkins twice. That right there tells me that, styles aside, Kelly should have been competetive at the very least. He was not. Anyone who could not, or would not, see within the first 3 rounds, that there was something seriously wrong with Kelly has either never seen any other Pavlik fights, or they are fundamentally dishonest and lack personal integrity.

Pavlik has nothing to be ashamed of. Its his fans that were touting him as invincible and that to even suggest that Hopkins could win was idiotic, who need to go crawl back under whatever rock they came out from. The same people who were accusing Calzaghe of being afraid of Pavlik and ducking him and are now pretending like its no big deal or making excuses like Pavlik had bronchitis.

Are you trying to tell us that you honestly believe Pavlik was at 100%?

This is the kind of crap I'm talking about. The only stuff I heard from the Pavlik camp before the fight was they were going to KO Hopkins and go after Calzaghe next. Excuses are like assholes, and you're *******:ass

Taylor-Pavlik-Hopkins triangle is less about styles and more about weight. As evidenced by his last fights at Light Heavyweight, its more apparent that Hopkins had just outgrown the middleweight division. Being weight drained is something that can cause you to be less agressive when needed. The only thing that was wrong with Kelly was that he was in against a better class fighter than he's ever faced. :deal

So you do think Pavlik was at 100%. Now the choices are; either you never saw any of his other fights, or you are fundamentally dishonest and lack personal integrity. And I know you've seen other Pavlik fights, so that leaves us with .... you're smart boy, figure it out.

It was true Kelly had an elbow injury about a month before the fight. He and his sparring partner clashed.

Also, he suffered from bronchitis, 4 days before and was given penicillin.

However, no excuses, he chose to fight.

If he didn't feel ready, then he shouldn't fight. It doesn't matter though. He could've been 115%, he still wouldn't have been able to handle B-Hops lateral movement and defense. He didn't land one significant punch in the entire fight. His jab was ineffective and his right was completely nullified. Pavlik is too slow, plodding and predictable. That might work against guys that want to slug it out with him and stand right in front and go straight back, but it won't fly against world class students of the sweet science. Its one thing to spar against some nobody emulating that style, its completely another to go against a world beater. And like I predicted, he wouldn't beat a fighter like Hopkins and will never beat Calzaghe or Kessler. He will return to 160 and do well for himself, but the expectations should be back to within reason and thank goodness.
