I always hear about these fights not happening because of negotiations or some other Bs. Why dont the fighters go to their promoter's and demand fights? Like stop worrying about money so much and worry about respect, cause it seems everybody only get attention by their mouth or cherry picking. Where has the real game of boxing went? where people more or less to some degree, fought not only for money, but respect???

The game of boxing has lost its respect because all people look for is just money, nobody want to be great, trancend the sport, carry the sport, or put it back up there with the other big ones (Football, basketball, etc.)
They are like leeches, they take what they want, (money, temporary attention) and leave, like the game was sum 2 dolla ho. The BPA seems like what could be the turning point for the sport, but thats yet to be decided tho.

Just a disgruntled fan who loves the sport of boxing very much.
    Comment & suggestions are welcome

I believe that there are warriors out there but Promoters and the Networks are killing boxing. A fighter can lose one time now days and the world will say they are washed up or overrated. I don't know. The game is getting ****ed up daily!

Theres too many money minded characters in the game! Not many people fight just to fight and become the best anymore, its disappointing when some fighters would take a payday over success... not to say they all do that though! UFC hasnt helped boxings public persona either :\

    Yes, it's very bad.

Boxing's failure to deliver Mayweather-Pacquiao is the biggest spaz-attack in the history of the sport. Things are bad. On a smaller but identical scale, nobody is rushing to make Gonzalez-Joyi, which is one of the best fights in the game right now...things are very, very, very bad.

The problem is not boxers wanting to make money. Saying that a professional fighter should not take the path leading to the most reward is naive.
The problem is the fans paying for a mediocre product. If we stop buying tickets and stop buying PPVs for overmatched, cherry picked fights, then the only way for fighters to get big money fights is to take the fights the fans want to see.

it's all about manaufacturing fake stars and making smart business decisions. roy jones started it, floyd fraudweather is continuing this suicidal career strategy that could destroy the sport and turn it into a total fix.

thanks, if anything, all we can do is hope for the best i suppose because everybody in the game, barring Williams & pacquiao, want to fight everybody, and even they always want to make sure their bank account is set b4 then. Maybe we'll have sum "Savior":happy come outta nowhere that is everything everybody wants him to be and bring the sport back but we can only wonder....:-(

Cherry pickings or not, boxing is not the first to deliver such predictable events, all sports have their share. As a fan I'll always buy and watch. Boycotting your favorite sport to "help" improve it sounds silly to me.

If there was no money, no one would be in the sport. Legacy and appreciation from the a few unknowns doesn't pay the bills. Do you work to be "remembered" and appreciated or to make money?

Of course there are fighters who get too greedy, that's how it is. They are also business men and if you're not greedy for more money as a business man then what would you be greedy for?, to put smiles on the faces of fans?

Pacman demanded more money against DLH, Lewis demanded more money when negotiating with Tyson, Leonard and Hagler had complications and the examples are all over really.

Seems like it's gotten prety bad over the past year or so with guys blatantly ducking one another, but money and matchmaking have gone hand in hand since boxing became a high earning sport. Even the great "Sugar" Ray Robinson was known for being a real stickler during negotiations and was known to pull out of fights at the last minute if the money wasn't right.
