It's boxing. Gotta deal with those crazed Margarito fans who believe it was baking soda on the wraps too.
I'm Mexican-American and my favorite fighters (in no particular order) are: Paul Williams, Librado Andrade, Jermaine Taylor, Floyd Mayweather, Joshua Clottey, and Israel Vasquez. I personally like watching fighters who are skillfull and fight the best fighters out there. All of the above fit this description except Andrade, but how can you not like this guy? He brings it every fight, and if you are not a borderline pound4pound fighter (Kessler) he will break you down. (obviously i feel he got a raw deal in Montreal with Bute).
It's amazing how a simple dozen names on your Ignore list clarifies things. When you stumble into a troll thread by mistake, all you see is vast expanses of gray, broken by the occasional "STFU." Depending who you ask, the line between racial pride and racist pride is all over the map. Everybody's got their own view on that. The line between the crowd reaction to Diaz v. Campbell and the crowd reaction to Bowe v. Golata I is pretty apparent, though, isn't it? There's plenty of national rivalries you can follow with interest and there's plenty of boxers without a hardcore racial/national base that you can judge with an eye that's less biased by the quality of their fans. Whether it's blood, skill, heart, race, jab, nation, footwork, trainers, legacies, the past, or the future, boxing fans are into any or all of those. There's a full gamut here, so it's natural that some posters' idea of fandom or boxing Truth is completely alien to other posters. It's all relative, blank. A smartly-stocked Ignore list brings some perspective; believe me, there's tons of boxing forums that you couldn't find any upside to at all - this one's pretty darn good.
