May, Pac, Whitaker, De la Hoya, Lewis, Holyfield, RJJ, B-Hop, JMM, MAB, Wlad, Tito, Morales. These are all greater fighters than Calzaghe for me.

    Top 501, no doubt. Not 500+ 2, 3, or 4, but +1.

What I want to know is why Joe Calzaghe never fought Sven Ottke?

    **BOTH retired undefeated
**BOTH made 21 title defenses (more than any other SM ever)
**BOTH were active at the same time.

Frank ****** has been on record several times in the past on trying to make the fight but Ottkes management didn't want to know.

None of those guys are Greater than Joe. Two of them were schooled and clowned by Calzaghe. BTW Joe was passed his prime when he fought them. Whitaker comes the closest.

These lists are all GHOST TAILS REALLY & TRULY! But....what the heck, I'm fan so..why not!
Calzaghe IS Serious study. He WAS severe. Idk. He's a "great". Could of taken win against anyone. What are the negatives about his career? Roy Jones he picked up PAST prime of RJ.
Idk. In rating a.t. their can be different criteria. IF THEY HAD A a.t. for boxers with 45 fights range he'd be major candidate. BoxRec has him no.1 Supermiddleweight a.t.*
Steve Collins they have second. [It's interesting..though, BoxRec gets some of their a.t. ratings "truly haywire". They have Floyd Patterson miles ahead of George Foreman! That's "bank robbery", don't you think?][Billy Backus 50 slots above Marlon Starling. That's "sick"]
It's hard to fault the undefeated record. His real a.t. turning point came when he =Surprised the world= turning back Jeff (Foul-mouth) Lacy [Rap-culture......]. Then, the Kessler win was outstanding. Hopkin "expected" & close. Bernard YET had more greatness to pave.....though at the time we did not know THAT.
Detractors possibly can look to fight detail vs Roy J.?
He was a "great" champion. But...time works to enshrine things. Was not many years ago he retired.
He's a "floater" right now. 100 more years his legacy will be perhaps more greatly appreciated [if world last that much longer..]
*John Wilkinson, "Supermiddle weight" in BoxRec archives. [they count single pound over, normally...for the next weight class] my actual record I consider to be sm* m m sm -break 15 month- jm m lh m** m sm m m m -23 1/2 year break to now. Coming back now at 147lb##(*weight reported m but..it was sm; **1991 national G.G. champ Frank Savannah..his one career defeat came against Dana Rosenblatt long while no.1 contender and Frank got rated 12 at his height) ##natural weight
