Khan does have SOME world class skills. His hand speed is extraordinary, and has a very good variety of punches, including a good jab. However - his chin is bloody awful, and must have been taking lessons from Ricky Hatton on his defensive work. Rumour has it that he wouldn't spar with people from when he turned pro (his manager - not Warren, a family member) felt that people should spar with him..... Most British fighters tend to get on pretty well and are willing to spar in prep for a fight. Surely in his novice years he ought to have been beating down the doors to spar with Ricky Hatton, Junior Witter, Jamie Moore and others when they are prepping for a fight. He only got other guys to spar with him..... but what level were they?
i didnt no that but sparing with pac will surely do him good he needs to watch some mayweather fights and learn to fight that style then he wont get clipped so much
Sparring with Pac is probably a condition of him training with Roach. In most gyms fighters spar with each other..... but Khan was put on a pedestal. He will improve no doubt, but if someone gets into a brawl with him and just throws all sorts of punches, he will go over.
im of the opinion hes fighting at the wrong weight like pac early in his carear he should be fighting @140 he might be weight drained @135 pac went over twice early in his carear but now look at him or i could be wrong time will tell
I agree, Khan had to strip naked to make 135lbs for the ***en fight, but if he moves up people will want a fight with Hatton which he will lose easily.
The true judgement for Khan, as we all know, is when he gets his world title shot. It'll be a predictable path I believe. Fight either thirty something guys who have decent records but are not dangerous anymore or jumped up SFW's who lack the power to trouble. Once Khan has disposed of these he'll get his WBO shot. I believe that there is no chance in hell that Khan will get his rematch with Prescott. The only way this happens is if Khan becomes WBO champs and Prescott gets over-matched too early in his career and gets outclassed. His confidence would be shot and would not be the same devastating fighter that he showed when bashing up on Khan. I hope Khan does well but I think he'd do a lot better for himself if he left Frank Warren.
Toughie.... If Khan hadn't signed with Warren he wouldn't have been put on such a pedestal... and would therefore have been matched properly, against GENUINE lightweights with a bit of something in their fists. There won't be any demand for a Hatton fight (and never has been), most people know Amir isn't and never will be on Hatton's level.
