I think he is one gruelling fight away from being completely washed up. A Margarito rematch will be a disaster for him.
the heart and balls it takes to rematch the guy who bludgeoned you so ****ing brutally (bricks or not) is absolutely amazing. cotto deserves huge props for even considering the fight
Absolutley , i think he's got a good chance too , it wont be easy and will require a lot from Cotto but i beleive Margarito is not the man he was in 2008 and by the time this fight comes around i will be fancying Cotto to do enough and take a decision . We are talking about Cotto making micro adjustments here , he needs to fight a different fight on the inside and to not take as many backwards steps instead grapple with Margarito a little bit , Mosley is the blue print on what to do with Margo and if Cotto is that little bit more crafty on the inside and can turn Margo off and crash him in the process its his fight to lose .
Margarito was a well oiled seasoned come forward fighter who had enough skill to apply his walkdown style and mix it up enough skill wise to get by against the very best fighters in the world . He's slowed down since then , a lot IMO , took a savage beating from Pacquiao and looked awful against Garcia , and even before Garcia he was inactive for over 12 months Then there is the loaded wraps , if his wraps were loaded against Shane , then they were loaded against Cotto :deal , advantage Cotto I think the way both fighters shape up right now i just like Cotto over Margo this time around
It's been done to death but its just conjecture, you dont know that. I think Cotto gets hit he will go into a shell, and at 154 Cotto has even less chance of hurting Margarito.
cotto might be past him prime but he is still a great fighter that can beat a lot of top fighters but i do think he needs to move back down to 147 he is to small for light middle
Gotta love Cotto, takes on all challengers and don't duck nobody. However, the margarito and pacquiao beatings were brutal and I sincerely think he's not the same fighter, as long as he is matched carefully I think he can do well, but the cotto of old is gone. Those were serious beatings. Either way I HOPE he proves me wrong!
steward don't want none of manny...i'm a cotto fan but he doesn't beat manny...steward doesn't even want his name in the same sentence as manny and changes the subject....when manny was putting the beat down on tony they asked steward how bout a rematch with your fighter and steward didn't answer the question rather tryin to say manny should go back to the 140s....he knows wassup
