This cherry pick gone wrong is baseless. Why fight Fury 2 more times? Doesn't really make sense. Money?

He secured his place in history with the heart he showed in the Fury trilogy. He is a true warrior.

I think money and ego afterwards. I don’t think it is Wilder saying no. It would be his team that would have. Same with AJ. He probably would fight anyone. His handlers know his limitations and the business side

Indeed. He's a massive bully that only ever fought soft touches his entire career until coming afoul of Fury. Those losses broke his spirit and he hasn't dared get in the ring with anyone decent since (and I have my suspicions over the Helenius fight as well).

To his credit, like Joshua, he showed his heart in adversity which has won him a modicum of respect, but he knows he's no longer the man and that's caused his whole house of cards to come down around him.

He's late 30s and has no big money fights other than Fury, Usyk or Joshua. And the first two guys obviously aren't going to happen anytime soon (and Fury never again).

Wilder isn't going to fight lower top 10 guys for $5mm. When you consider that the Helenius PPV bombed, it's unlikely that he'll get a high guarantee from a broadcaster unless it's against an elite opponent. Joshua is that opponent, but the huge Saudi payday evaporated like a mirage in the desert and now he's back to square one.

My guess is he'll fight again but his best days are behind him. Personally I think Wilder/Zhang would be a great fight, but not sure the money is there.

He should fight Joshua and retire if losing. Still an exciting fight.

He needs a fight. Andy Ruiz needs a fight. Both are Americano. It would be a good fight.

    So will never ****ing happen.

The heavyweight division is just a complete disaster. Zhang seems to be the only guy who wants to fight anybody.

Now that the Joshua fight isn't happening, Wilder likely has retired with a first-round KO win.

If so, Wilder retires with a record of 43-2-1. 42 knockouts. 10 Successful WBC Heavyweight Title defenses in five years. 10-2-1 in 13 heavyweight title fights. And the reputation as one of the greatest heavyweight punchers ever.

Enjoy watching Otto Wallin slap people around with arm punches. Usyk fighting once a year and crying low blow every time someone throws a punch near his waist. Fury fighting exhibitions. Gassiev following people around the ring not throwing anything. And, with Joyce a mess, get ready for Joseph Parker's second coming as one of the top heavyweights again.

Because it looks like you won't have Wilder to kick around anymore.

But he certainly made the sport a lot more fun while he was around.:borra2:

    @Dubblechin

I think Wilder is training too much for someone who will never fight again. I do agree that he's headed in that direction but will be looking for at least one more big payday.

For me Wilder/Zhang is a sleeper fight to do in NYC. It probably would do better than Wilder/Helenius, but Deontay would have to be realistic with his purse demands. I hope he's not done because the HW division is just a couple years away from becoming very very shitty.

Ah yes, a massive bully who was outweighed by everyone he fought for the last 10 years of his career.

Nothing like those scrawny bullies and their chicken legs with no boxing skills at all striking fear into everyone. :hang

Enjoy the boxing stylings of Otto Wallin. Because the heavyweight division's one-punch-KO days are over for a while.

He was training for Joshua. That fight was officially called off by Hearn last week.
