Word is that he's going to fight in Moscow on some June date. Brahmer was named as a potential opponent but he's (Brahmer) probably fighting Nathan Cleverly.
I think that's because he's hasn't faced anyone that excites the boxing fan since last March in his first fight with Pascal. Mohammedi was a walkover and we all knew what would happen to Pascal in the rematch.
With so many big name "once a year" fighters out there, isn't this a bit early for that question?! :think
Duva said yesterday the plan was for him to fight in Russia in june but they have to wait for some things, and in the contract between him and Ward it is stated that Ward and Kovalev can't fight past june any other fighter until they meet in the ring. Also, Kovalev himself said he saw Fonfara calling him out and he sent the information to his manager.
I follow him on Instagram so I know he just came back from Hawaii with his family not too long ago. Before that he was in Russia and it appeared he was promoting something or just doing a victory tour of sorts. All his posts are in Russian so I can't understand anything he writes. But based on his pics he seems to be staying in relative shape and just enjoying himself.
He should go ahead a rip Fonfara in half in Russia in June. He'd have GIRAFFENECK(IB) outta there faster than he did Sillakh
Seems like he's waiting for his next fight to e set up. He's not a trash talker, so no surprise he's not in the media all the time.
