    :yep

Given how Williams looked against Ishida's ultimate replacement for that date (Lara), HBO were probably onto something there.

Last I saw of him he was training in the Maywood Gym with another Japanese prospect Takashi Okada. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWN5N3QYsM4[/ame]

They both kept to themselves, and just trained like everyone else.

I think him and Kirkland should fight again, if James is still @ that weight. Don't know if he was planning on going down to 154 again. He pulled off quite a stunner, doesn't Ishida deserve another shot against another known fighter.

Nobody made them disappear, they were simply opponents for HBO fighters high profile KOs, HBO bosses never planned with them winning nor did they ever called them back for another fight. I Had a long battle with people not understanding HBO never OK'd or considered paying for Martinez-Pirog, and despite some rumors of actually getting Williams-Ishida, the Japanese got Pirog's fate, which is no future on US television which is too bad.

They were never meant to win and HBO treats them as they didn't.
