his guy beat a great prospect and hbo didnt interview him at the end of the fight. Some people are just born with a star. It makes me feel like GBP or HBO lost a lot of money and they try to vanish this kid from cameras or something. Too fishy that a great fighter just dissapear like that
GBP lost a significant amount of cash with that fight; Jacobs was one of the crown jewels in their stable of prospects and him losing via that devastating 1 punch KO to a completely unknown (to the U.S. market) was the worst possible outcome. Danny was on the fast track and now he and GBP are going to need to rebuild things up patiently. The networks investing in Pirog is something that's going to happen reluctantly because he has no base demographic in the U.S. for them to market to and minimal name value right now. Dmitry will have to impress (the networks and U.S. fans) at least 1-2 more times before his name value matches the risk he presents to guys like Martinez. To even get that opportunity, Pirog needs the network that has an almost incestuous relationship with GBP to take a chance on showing him again against cheaper opposition. I hope he gets it!
Yea. The same people who were supposed to show interest in Jacobs now want to know what's up with Pirog? I'm still a fan of Jacobs, but Pirog made a fan out of me. He needs to ride that momentum from the Jacobs fight and take advantage of it.
pirog is getting screwed because he looked to good but isnt marketable, if i was him i would be fighting lesser americans for one year to create fanbase.
