Universum contractual problems. Been working between Germany,Ukraine and USA altely. He's done if he doesn't get a fight in say...3-4 months.
Yes. But his problems are that he only has been in talks. He needs to actually DO something about the situation. N ormally I'd say he's a top 3 JMW but he did show signs of growing old recently and has been off over a year.
He can't get out of his Universum contract so he's been on the shelf. He's not retired and I still rank him as the top JMW alongside Martinez
He signed with Gary Shaw last month. http://boxing.fanhouse.com/2010/02/03/sergiy-dzinziruk-signs-with-gary-shaw-banner-promotions/
How about Dzinziruk vs. Simms? Neither's getting any younger, both need some momentum, and the winner here would be the belle of the ball at the unification dance (assuming Paul and Sergio boogie on up to 160).
Never heard of him. That's interesting that Showtime would pick up a title fight with a challenger who's never fought outside Russia.
Dzinziruk is a very well schooled boxer with an amateur pedigree. Has never lost a fight and has a few good names on his record, with one legitimate win over Daniel Santos, flooring him en route to a decision. Dzinziruk always wanted to prove himself against the very best, but Universum is only looking to keep their business in-house, and get all benefits. Now that he's signed with Shaw I am expecting some great things from him. I have been privileged to see him fight and spar, and from what I can tell, measuring him up with other 154lbs'ers, I would slightly favor him ahead of the lot of them. :good
Just boxrec'd him, seems ideal for a comeback match. Won a few regional titles, and just came off beating a former undefeated prospect but nothing major.
