has he retired? is he planning a comeback? why is it taking so long? the wlad fight was almost a year ago, he really should get back on track. so he lost against the best hw out there - big deal, you win some, you lose some. no need to retire after only one defeat. i think he was a bit surprised about wlad's speed as well and found out during the fight that he couldn't get his counter shots off. anyway i somehow miss barney rubble, he was a capable hw. a fight vs. arreola would be great for example...

Sultan would embarrass Arreola. I also hope he returns, as he's one of the best five or six heavies out there.

I don't know where he is, but I wish he would come back. Sultan is easily one of the Top 5 HWs. The division needs him.

Indeed, Sultan fit in well with the heavyweights. Damn good fighter compared to most of them. I want him back too.

Chagaev vs. Sultan would be a very close fight, in my opinion.

I think Ibragimov is every bit as good as Chagaev.

I actually rate him a touch higher. But yes, a very close fight indeed.

I think there's a chance that he won't be the same fighter he used to be. but who knows, maybe he still has something left in him.

Who knows what we will see if and when he returns. All I know is that this long layoff can't help him any, especially if he isn't training hard.

Haye vs. Ibragimov has the makings of a good fight as well, imo.

The problem with Sultan was Jeff Mayweather. Defensive boxing may have helped him beat Briggs, but it took away any chance he may have had against Wlad and reduced his marketability.

Pre-Mayweather Ibgragimov was a whirlwind attacker who swarmed and threw a lot of shots. See his fights with Ahunanya, Whitaker and any of his early pro fights.

There is a reason his fight with Austin was one of the highest rated FNF's of all-time.

Still, I'd like to see him comeback too. There are good matchups out there to be made.
It could be that he's back home in Russia/Caucasus living off his ring earnings.

I would actually be inclined to agree. ALthough Haye has him beat in a few categories, power, speed(Not by that much) Iggy just has that experience to hand Haye a loss at HW. I wouldnt be THAT Suprised if Haye pulls an upset though.
