Coming up on another 4 years and still no word from Ibragimov. Anybody have any updates on what he is up to these days? Is he still in Miami or has he gone back to Russia?
I always liked his skill set and wondered how he would have fared against the other contenders of his day, Povetkin, Chagaev, Thompson, Peter...
I actually read somewhere that they were not related. The "Ibragimov cousins" was a gimmick to sell them. It is a fairly common name in their neck of the woods. Anyway the one thing that I can add to this is that his retirement wasn't abrupt. He was saying things well beforehand like "there are other things I can do in the world than boxing," or something like that. I think he just got real tired of the game.
I don’t do Facebook unfortunately so I’m not able to see what he’s up to. Does it look like he actively uses the account? If so, what’s he up to these days?
This content is protected Unfortunately I don’t speak Russian and there are no English subtitles, but this interview with Sultan is from 7 months ago. Is anybody on the forum able to translate a bit?
Good fighter, unfortunately was in the division during Wladimir Klitschkos prime… who not only is likely a top 10 ATG, but also just a terrible style for a guy like Sultan! I would have liked to see him in with Haye. He probably got his money from the Klitschko fight and got out of the sport and the deplorables that tend to populate it…
