Last time I saw him I was watching him beat the crap out of Julio Cesar Gonzalez, being the first man to stop the grizzled vet. I figured he'd immediately start fighting some contenders, but I haven't heard anything about him in like half a year and don't know if he's injured or in a promotional dispute. Young fighters need to stay active, so what's the deal?

From what I've seen, I think he could give the top guys at 168-175 hell with his surprisingly accurate bombs-away pressure style.

Could turn out to be another Lacy, but if he had a tune-up and seemed fine, he and Chad Dawson later on this year would be 50-50.

As said in other threads, the perfect fight for him now would be Clinton Wood's. Another sturdy veteran who has never been stopped, Woods is the no.2 contender, Cloud the no.1. Whilst Dawson is off fighting 60-year old Tarver (you don't see B-Hop rematching Pavlik or Pac-DLH 2?!?!?! why is he fighting Tarver?) they should fight each other.

Would be a perfect way to drum up interest for Cloud if he could stop Woods, which I think he'll have a hard job doing.

Do you think this fight will be made as well then? Or just another reference to the 'Woods Will Expose Dawson' thread

The thread is just a joke of the brits.
I was serious,Cloud win an IBF eliminator,as did Woods, either one of them gets Dawson or the winner of them.

He's number 1 contender so he should be next in line after Dawson beats Tarver for a second time. Which is a bull**** fight. If someone deserved a rematch it was Johnson not Tarver.

I would like to see Cloud in there with Woods, expect he would beat him but would be a good test before fighting Dawson which would be a big step up.

There was a rematch clause in the contract and Tarver activated it because he was the champion. Every champion has the right to rematch the opponent if they lose, depending on the contract. It's similar to what happened with Lennox Lewis and Hasim Rahman.

I'm pretty sure HBO was only interested in Dawson-Tarver II and I wouldn't be shocked if Chad TKOs Tarver this time as his HBO "mega debut".

As per Cloud, He needs a few more tune ups on FNF I feel. I think Cloud vs Woods is a solid fight for him...although I think the BEST fight would've been an Omar Sheika type.

Clinton Woods is the perfect test for Cloud right now....if he beats Woods i'd say line him up for Glen Johnson....IF he beat Johnson then he's perfectly primed and groomed for a Dawson showdown....Gonzalez was 88 yrs old i need to see more of Cloud before a shot at Dawson...

I was impressed with this kid against Gonzalez. Very tough fighter to KO and he did it.

    I doubt it.

I'm sure from his point of view he will figure he has a good shot at Dawson with his power (and he's not unskilled), and Dawson's vulnerability.

I'm not saying he'll win, but from his viewpoint it would look like a good fight to take.

Chad Dawson fought Eric Harding for the WBC title eliminator in 2006. He was suppose to fight Stipe Drews to be the mandatory for the WBC belt. Stipe Drews withdrew and Dawson ended up fighting Adamek.

This is the same thing happening here with Woods and Cloud.
