During last Saturday's ITV4 show I saw advertisements relating to the Froch fight broadcasting, but have not seen it elsewhere. I assume they want more viewers than ESB posters, boxing news readers & ITV4 viewers who happened to be viewing last Saturday night. There has been nothing in the tabloids, or on any of the channels. How many viewers can they expect bearing in mind Sky Box Office has a planned run up for months on end with a 24/7 show the week before. How many viewers do they need to break even?
It is a double edged sword: no marketing = low buys & a loss Strategic/targeted marketing = potential higher buys - more revenue, less advertising costs Mass Marketing - Even higher buys, with a projected loss, but a higher profile for the next event Option 1 does not demonstrate strategic planning, and will give a false perception of the market out there
I would say get it in boxing news, a few of the lads mags (Zoo, Nuts) a few red top rags get a few banners on a few boxing websites, even get BBC to get a late interview on Froch and they will give it a bit of publicity (saying that it is actually on TV, and its after Strictly Come Dancing)
I think that this is what they are hoping for - word of mouth advertising basically that they don't have to pay for. You can't really make a case for paid for advertising actually generating more revenue that it costs so there's not really any reason for them to do that.
they are part of the same group as a few magazines and newspapers, daily star include so expect it to be in there.
Look at this! :rofl http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=174523 Is this how Mick plans on doing it?
I recall Frank Maloney's brother doing a PPV show. I think it was a Earl British title fight where the whole show was beamed live. My recollection was that it made a loss
