I have no idea why either. Loma unlike GGG isn't afraid of fighting the best. He's extremely skilled and is also much younger.
this plus he isn't nearly as charismatic with his robotic stoic face. His small size doesn't help either, Usyk is similar in style and everyone is going bananas over him.
After GRJ fight they've been feeding him bums and the hype is dying down. It's a strange way to run a boxer's career, first have him face really difficult opposition and then progressively get worse and worse. Not sure what Top Rank is doing with him but they've been rather incompetent this year.
I have been a fan since the olympics, followed the WSB and thought he did enough to beat Salido narrowly despite the fouling and weight/experience advantage that Salido had. His win against Russel was amazing to watch and a pure masterclass However recently his competition is lacking in big names : The Walters fight fell through The Rigondeaux fight fell through also Lomachenko, as talented as he is, needs a well known contender/champion to become more recognised but given he is a world champion and recognised as the top dog in his division in only his 5th fight you can give him a pass for now for taking some stay busy fights Scott Quigg, Carl Frampton, Guillermo Rigondeaux, Lee Selby, Nicholas Walters, Nonito Donaire . . . .these are the guys he needs to be fighting . . . hopefully hell come to the UK to fight one of the british Trio so I can see him live
To be fair to loma, it probably is hard for him to get fights, he cant offer that much money, and there's a 99.99% chance you're getting schooled unless your name is rigo.
It's hard, because most of the opponents are signed with Haymon and it seems like TR weren't willing to offer enough money to make Rigondeaux-Lomachenko happen, I think after assessing the options they should have just fought Walters but they didn't want that. So now he's just fighting pretty much a waste of time. Selby will be in no rush to face him either that's for sure and I'm not particularly excited about the potential Gradovich bout, Vetyeka would have been an interesting opponent not sure why they didn't get him. But yeah, there's not much out there for him now unfortunately.
It may sound decent but if I was Rigo and I was about to move up for somebody dangerous, I'd want more than just 500k guarantee.
You must be confusing Lomachenko amd GGG. There are absolutely 0 holes in Lomachenko's game. He might have learned a little about the roughing game from the Salido fight, but technically he is about as perfect a fighter there is in the game right now. And yes better than GGG.
