Langford: Jeanette (x8.), Ross, Flynn (x2), Schreck, Ketchel, Lang, Mcvea(x4), D. Flynn, Smith, Wills (x2), Norfolk, Battling Jim Johnson (x2)

These guys were considered top contenders when he beat them. Plus there are some earlier coloured champs I can't remember.

I wont rank Wlad this side of his retirement for one simple reason - he hasn't fought and shows no inclination to fighting the biggest threat out there, Vitali.
No fighter can ever be considered anywhere near an ATG without fighting the BEST opponents they can IMO.
I know, I know... brothers... blah... blah... blah... promise to mummy... blah... blah... blah...
I don't give a ****, want to be the best - prove it by beating the best.

His reign is better than Liston. Fact: time and title defenses.

His reign can definitely compete with Dempsey's reign. Dempsey just did 6 title defenses, Wlad has 10. Dempsey reigned for two more years, but he was inactive during a significant part of his reign (three years I think).

He's almost there. Just wait: 5 years after he retires, all of these guys will be missing hm and lauding his greatness. It happened to Lennox and it'll happen to Vlad unless he ends his career on a losing skid.

Wlad is a top ten no doubt. Rocky, Dempsey just too Small. Wlads style not exciting but he WINS!!!:lol:Tommy Morrison looked like a midget to Lennox!Their gonna have to change the Weight classes.Jack Johnson was only big man a century ago. Patterson,Ingo, ezz Charles too small man.Even great Joe Louis would have trouble beating these good giants. moderns who would be in top ten no special order Holmes,Foreman, Ali,Lewis ,Klits there the top guys . Dont tell me about Abe Simon he just didnt have it!! The Klits move ,hit, jab(like a tree)Power,Condition they just have it!!:bbb

how are dempsey marciano and liston above him? Dempsey defended his title 5 times against 5 handpicked oppoenents and 2 blown up light heavys. Marciano defended the belt 6 times against guys in thier 40's, and liston defended the belt twice against patterson, wlad has defended his belt 10 times, more then mike tyson and more then any other hw excpet ali louis holmes and i think lennox.

I will start considering this after Wlad has 15 title defenses on his way to a possible 20!

I think he's a lock for top 20 heavyweight and is probably closer to 15 than ten or twenty.

One guy was in his forties and he was on a big winning streak and had earned his shot as the number one heavyweight contender on the planet by beating Nino Valdes.

All the fighters in the top 10 ATG HW list will have beaten another fighter in the top 10. What is Wlads best win? So the WK having a good resume thing is BS, just racking up wins against bums at home in the worst HW era ever deserves no credit. Also you need to define 'skill' as plodding forwards behind a jab then either backing up in a straght line with you chin in the air and left arm extended or clinching is not top 10 worthy either.

..and don't forget about Johnson...basically the weakest or one of the weakest HW reigns out there, it's mindblowing to think that some ppl. have him inside top5.
