would Roman Gonzalez's version of Viloria, Sosa, Yaegashi and Estrada fall, do you figure? As in, if Lopez had beaten the same guys at the same time and weight, how would they figure into his, say, top ten wins? That's if you'd rate them in his top ten wins. If not, or you figure Gonzalez has better wins than the names I picked, just go with it and answer the best you can, please. Thanks for any feedback.
I was never really sold on Rosendo. The rest of his resume is generally ranked opponents in a shallow division. Viloria and Estrada are arguably better than anyone Lopez beat. Yaegashi was a lineal champion but has suffered some dodgy defeats in his career although you could argue he's just as good as Alvarez. Sosa is about as good as anyone else Lopez faced.
Lopez's division was so obscure that even I , as a hard core fan at the time of his reign, could not tell you who he fought. None of his fights were televised in the US at the time. The 105 division was created around his time.
Alvarez, Sarjatourong and Grigsby were all fine fighters. SSJ has the best win (over Humberto Gonzalez), while Alvarez at his best was probably more dangerous than Yaegashi and Sosa. I'd favor a primed Alvarez to beat either. That said, the four fighters listed would easily fill most of the upper positions of any top 10 opponents on Finito's best wins.
Somewhere behind Saman sorjaturong but ahead of zolani petelo. The best guys Lopez beat were Saman and ohashi. Will Grigsby was very good as well.
