Second brutal stoppage loss in his last three fights, plus another serious battle in a long list of them so far in his career. It's fair to say he's as good as he'll ever get, and I think he'll be well on the downward trajectory portion should he choose to continue. Is it worth it? Where do you guys think he should go with his career?
He can probably rule 130 if he wants to. Although a pressure fighter will probably have a field day with him specially at 130.
Any of the three is so wrong for López. I know we are not his relatives or anything, but any boxing fan should worry about fighters' health.
retire....he's never gonna get back his old glory now and he just took 2 horrible beatings, he's pugilistic dementia waiting happen
He's still a very good fighter and showed some good improvements tonight...Salido was just the better man. I think he can still work himself back into contender status at either 126 or 130.
Cotto was matched perfectly into a title at 154... so can juama and then to a top payday and retire.. what cotto is probably on his way of doing.. Mayweather then Canelo and retire.
He did some nice countering work with the right hook and I'm wondering if a better trainer can help him improve his jab, defense and posture (the latter two could be difficult at this stage given the mileage and his lack of great speed and reflexes), but I think he can still beat a number of top 10 contenders at the weight. The thing is I've heard some people mention that he is slurring his words now. That has me uneasy with regard to him continuing. I wouldn't want to see a great warrior like him in bad shape later on in his life, especially with kids to look after.
just fight anybody chris johne, celestino etc., but not salido anymore, or with an complet other gameplan. brawling he cant win vs salido, who seems more durable and punches harder. with an avoid getting hit technic, simply scoring with long jabs face or body winning rounds, finaly winning fight, sounds so easy, sure is not.
Yeah, that is a good point. If his health allows it, he can still do a lot, but I wouldn't be surprised if the bombs have started to take their toll. Always better to get out intact while you can.
