He's set to fight Lacy at Super Middleweight.

If Hopkins wasn't having a hard time making 160 lbs I think he would have beat Taylor. I really dont think Taylor will make it very far in his next few fights, that is if he faces top quality opposition. The man barely beat 2 Light Middleweights and in my opinion lost to Winky Wright. Then he was soundly defeated by Pavlik twice. I dont see Taylor becoming an A class fighter again unless he has something in him that we haven't seen yet.

His confidence was broken after the 2nd Taylor fight, when he went the full 12 but was beaten by a better fighter. I dont think he was expecting to lose in that fashion. Maybe he regarded the first fight as a fluke of sorts, and he believed that over 12 rounds he was the superior fighter.

He is still young, and after all the criticism he recieved he needed time off from the sport. He needs time to ask himself what he wants to accomplish in boxing and what his goals are from this point

The Lacy fight is a good confidence building fight for Jermain. Lacy may be shot but he is still a name fighter with a big punch, and it will be a good opportunity for Jermain to showcase his skills and hopefully score an impressive win and make his name at 168.

Yeah ur probly right. Doesn't really bother me much unless he:

    1) Loses. Lacy just doesn't seem viable to me any more. JC broke his spirit.

    2) Tries to call Scott Pemberton or Omar Sheika out after he beats up Lacy.

Let him pad his IRA a bit but then I wanna see him fight Kessler or Abraham or somebody more credible. Andrade maybe?

    Unless Pavlik broke Taylor's spirit?

Exactly, the fights a joke. After nearly a year off he did his best to get a fight with Jeff Lacy, the guy that got an undeserving decision over Mendoza. This fight should have been a quick tuneup.

At his age he needs to get his arse in the ring.

Assuming Taylor spanks Lacy, and Froch gets past Pascal, the WBC has already said JT will be Froch's first mandatory. In other words; Carl ain't keepin' that pretty green belt for long. Taylor is WAY to fast for Froch.
