After that headbutt situation with Kendall Holt he went off the grid. I know he had a fight in Colombia shortly after the Holt fight but havent heard anything from him.

    Did he retire?

I think he's sort of blackballed by the big(ger) networks due to the questions sorrounding his pull out of Holt vs Torres 3.

I like Torres he was an exciting fighter with a big punch. I have no idea why his career has stalled. Hopefully we'll hear some good news about him soon.

He had trouble making weight i think right? I have no doubt he would have stopped Holt in the rubbermatch.

I want to say it was either he struggled making weight or came down with flu like symptoms a week before the fight. Something along those lines, all I remember is Showtime was furious about it.

Is this what happened or do you think that there is something more to the story?

Torres has to be careful with his future boxing career... he has a glass jaw, and when he gets knocked out its not like he was knocked down and he didn't get up from the 10count. Hes getting KTFO. I know it hasn't really happened many times or anything like that, but i think you will all agree that if someone like Urango/Maidana/Bailey hit Torres he'd be put into a concussion. that **** ain't cool, I'd rather see him retire than get his head ripped off by guys who can hit as hard as him.

It's hard for me to remember because it happened a while ago (December of last year-ish?). I just remember Showtime spent a lot of effort hyping up Holt-Torres 3 and Torres pulled out late into it. Here's the best I could find on it:

"Torres really wanted to fight but he was ill during camp, missed some training and was not in the condition he needed to be in for a war like this," said Bruce Trampler, chief matchmaker for Top Rank.

Shame if the networks have blacklisted him, his fight with Cotto in particular was a great little slugfest.

I'm not sure I agree at all. His chin isn't good but he's certainly not glass. Remember it took Cotto 7 rounds to pound him out and whether you believe it led to the KO or not (I don't), Holt had the help of a headbutt to get him out of there in round 1.

    It's noway near glass.

Agree. Torres has an average chin but no way is it glass. had it not been for the headbutt that hurt him Torres was going to end it in the third round if not the second round where he had knocked him down twice.

Yeah, its a shame he has been inactive recently. Would be good to see him back.
