He did get knocked down twice then he KO'd Torres. Let's not even get into the sham that was their first fight. In the end, Holt is with Top Rank and likely on his way towards another title shot in the immediate future. Torres is off fighting pumas in the jungles of Columbia.

I'd say Holt won out of that whole ordeal.

Sucks about Torres. last i heard was that he could not make 140 anymore and i dont see him effective at 147 so i dont know whats gonna happen with him.

Well he never was the most active guy to begin with. A fight or two a year really doesn't cut it unless yer a superstar.

You don't think Holt was on his way out before the headbutt, which if I remember correctly, wasn't really Holt's fault, but Torres, wasn't he out on his feet from the butt and then Holt simply finished a defenseless fighter?

Holt got a huge break in that one, but many feel he was kind of screwed in the first one. It seemed though, barring another anomaly in the fight, that Torres had a good chance of winning the rubber match.

Indeed. What the hell happened to this guy? He has a potentially lucrative career in front of him.

Yeah, by a mean headbutt, right hand combo.

Anyway, headbutt or not, I think that KO had a lasting effect. Torres looked like complete **** against Raul Pinzon. He's also notorious for slacking in the gym. I think he's done.

not nearly out on his feet. hurt? hell yes. but he moved well and his legs were not showing the effects that many imply they did after the butt. what did him in was the ropes. his arm was caught in there and could not block the straight right.

and kendall holt is by no means a light puncher. he can crack. oh yeah and holt after the knockdown and that never gets a mention.

well the headbutt was a key factor in the way it ended. I am not trying to slight Holt, but he was stunned from the butt and trapped on the ropes and Kendall finished him off, probably some guys couldn't have, props to Holt, but still.......

He had one fight last year, at welterweight.

Haven't heard from him other than that fight, which ended in a 10th round TKO victory for Torres.

Wow, funny how time flies. This was the same guy who was demolishing Cotto a couple years back and would have pulverized him had it not been for the low blows. That fight alone should have shown the boxing world how limited Cotto's heart, skill and chin were.

thats the fight that showed cotto had the heart of a champion, victor ortiz was in the same position and he gave up.
