Im yet to see any real marketing for this fight. No commercials, no advertisements, no nothing. With the fight only 2-weeks away, you would think Top Rank would be in full swing with the promotion for this fight. Looks like Arum dropped the ball on this one. :-(
Real Marketing, commericials, advertisements and all that cost money! Arum azz is not spending the money for all that cause he already getting all the money with the ticket sales, PPV and site fee Jerry Jones gave him. Arum represents both fighters so all the cost of promoting is on him and as we can see he is one cheap *******!!!!
I saw some promotion for the fight the other night on HBO. Its called "Road to Dallas". It plays again Saturday at 11PM - check it out.
Yes HBO is going to spend a lil money for promotion cause they have a huge interest in the ppv sales but Top Rank is doing next to nothing for this fight cause Arum is already getting his.
they were showing a replay of adamek estrada on comcast sports net and i saw a few commercials, not that that does any good since anyone willing to watch the replay to that will already be purchasing the fight
I think its arum ppv and not hbo... anyone know if that is the case? If so they are really lacking in that area
:good I agree with you that Arum is a cheap *******. Just mentioning that there is "some" marketing going on in case anybody wants to catch it.
with pacquiao being in LA he should be doing the talk show circuit out there to get to the casual fan, hes a favorite on the kimmell show
I saw a special on HBO called "face to face" with Max Kellerman and both fighters. Had to be one of the most boring interviews i've ever seen. Both fighters sat face to face and answered questions given by Kellerman. I didnt even get half way through b4 I changed the channel.
Its HBO PPV. They're advertising it on their website. http://www.hbo.com/#/boxing/fights/2010/03-13-manny-pacquiao-vs-joshua-clottey/index.html http://www.hbo.com/#/boxing
I'm starting to hear more lately. Not a lot of effort from Top Rank though. Guess they believe that hard-core Pacquiao fans are enough to make the PPV a success.
Many casual fans dont even know this fight is coming up. Those are the people u need to draw in. Pac's style is one that casual fans salivate for.
I'd expect marketing to pick up the week of the fight. That's where they'll get more bang for their buck. That's also where they'll pickup the casual fans. If they start real soon many people will think they still have time and put it off. By waiting till that week they will have paid for less advertising and will pick up those who are not sure if they want to see the fight or not.
Oh ok that is much better because then I know for certain it will be on the next week:thumbsup I thought maybe it was arum because when the pbf/pac thing was going on they were saying HBO had the march date and that it would have been for PBF if they were both fighting on the same night
