   .

That was disgusting. Never mind, people will still believe that he wanted pac to take tests for "the safety of the sport". Forget about him aiming a knockout blow to a defenceless fighter, or cheating little fighters at the weigh – in (to name just two examples).

Who the **** cares about an opponents safety *during* the fight?

Unless I've misunderstood boxing all these years, a fairly big part of the sport is to try and hurt your opponent.

Maybe both guys could have shown how caring and compassionate they are by refusing to throw any punches.

Alexis Arguello was one of boxings great gentlemen - he was quick to check on his opponent and make sure he was ok ... *after* he'd beaten the **** out of them.

I, and any sane person should care about fighters' safety during the fight. Last time I checked, fighters looked to hurt their opponent while their opponent is actually engaged in a fight with them, not when the fighter is clearly defenceless. Boxing isn't about cheap shots and sucker punches last time I checked.again, what was most surprising, was that this incident involved Mr caring Floyd Mayweather Jr – the one who cares about fighters' safety so much.

Fans should care about a fighters' safety - everyone should in fact, except his opponent. From bell-to-bell, it should be the last thing on fighters' mind.:hey

I agree with those calling it cheap. It would have been much better for the sport and Mayweather's reputation if he would have won without resorting to cheap tactics.
