    It was the same Cotto
Cottos preformance against Mayweather was one of the most overtrated I can recall. Cotto Maybe won 1 round against Mayweather.

he couldn't bully trout around like he could with the smaller mayweather. Plus, trout was willing to stay on the outside and pick him apart where as mayweather wanted to exchange more. mayweather still beat him 10-2. I do agree though thAt cotto looked slower this fight.

He looked exactly the same to me. He was slow against Floyd also, and he gassed late. Your right with your other points though. It's styles / different opposition. Cotto always does better against guys he can muscle around. Anybody who can take his shots, back him off, or outmuscle him gives him a lot of problems. That's why 154 is probably not his ideal weight class.

He looked the same, its just that the champions at 154 will just be too much for Cotto.

aww yeah yeah just some gutted Mayweather fan. Did Cotto just hit his peak after the Pacquiao fight then and is now suddenly past it? This ***** logic is starting to make me sick.

Mayweather didn't win 10-11 rounds either, more like 8-9 let's be honest.

He also fought a different fight,he did not duck down and shot up with the jab and then right then left again,he was more reserved and cautious.

Just watched the fight, my god austin trout is huge compared to cot to, not only that he knows how to fight tall, but also mix it up on the inside. His jab is his best weapon along with his solid body shots. Trout could easily fight at middleweight. He is a future star, everyone at 154 will avoid him like the plague.

He was fighting a legit 154lber that was actually pretty good....

I'm a fan of Cotto's but overall his tenure at 154 isn't looking overly impressive. He beat Yuri Foreman, Ricardo Mayorga, Antonio Margarito, lost to Mayweather in a game performance, and lost to Trout.

He's not the same guy at 154 as he is at 140-147 because if he's going to fight legit top of the line 154lbers, they're going to be bigger than him and they'll be pretty skilled.

He won three tops. People went ape**** because he ****ed up Floyd's nose when he clearly lost the fight.

Honestly, I have a hard time taking Malignaggi seriously after hearing his takes on Cotto's last two fights. He must have that "I've been sonned" syndrome where you talk up a guy who handed you your ass to make yourself look better.

I think so as well. Cotto won two rounds on my card against Mayweather.

Cotto looked less coordinated vs Trout because Trout offered lots of movement.

Mayweather loves to fight with his back to the ropes, so Cotto had the opportunity to at least drop his head and punch at Mayweather without having to go out looking for him.
Either fight, Trout or Mayweather, Cotto was'nt landing much effectively.

I'll even say Cotto landed more effective shots vs Trout than he did Mayweather despite the fact Mayweather fought him flat footed and right in front of him.
