Why has Sergio become the World Champion in the late of his career (since the past few years)? This is pretty strange! Most of the great fighters became the World Champions when they were at younger age between 23-30 years old but Sergio was the World Champion at age 35 or 36 (I can't remember exactly). I just wonder what did he do and where the hell was he in the past? With his talents we see, he could have been the World Champion 10 years ago. Probably, he just woke up one day and became another fighter who we never expected him to be. I mean he became a superstar in boxing over night!
fighting in europe ,waiting for his big chance , i really feel the loss to margarito early in his career hindered him early on
For some reason he was unnoticed, he fought alot in Spain and UK until 2007. Thats when he statred to get noticed. Too Bad Cintron cried/pouted and got his way out of a KO. That night sucked ass. Cintron " It was a headbutt, NOBODY hits that hard".
Losing to Margerito stunted his chances, especially considering margerito was desperate for spotlight as well as being the most avoided fighter around. he has had to work his way up the hard way. obviously has some great wins in his career
Martinez took the hard way until he got known . He has a very strong mental and glamorous sexy'ness . :yep I hope he beats Chavit soundly and get his chance at Mayweather WBA jr MW strap or fight with Cotto or Canelo ! cool: He fought in Europe .
During one of Martinez's fights I watched one of the commentators said that Martinez actually was a cyclist before getting into boxing. Which partially explains Martinez being a late bloomer. IMO PEDs have something to do with his success; but, I will further that comment by saying most, if not all, of the top fighters in whatever weight divisions take PEDs. So he is hardly alone and in some cases just making the playing field level.
Started late, had issues with the boxing organization in his home country, and was never really noticed by US promoters because he was the wrong ethnicity while in Europe.
He was a good amateur on the Argentine boxing team, trained with Santiago Nieva amongst others. /thread.
You never saw that fight did you?:rofl Unlike Khan, Sergio has not been unconscious at the hands of plodders, nor at the hands of any boxer he's fought.
Yes, I;ve seen the fight. . Martinez slumped over against the ropes in a lifeless heap after getting his manhood snatched by Margarito. . . If it wasn't for the referee, Sergio woudl hvae DIED. . That must be very emascualting, and rpboably the event that turned him into a full blown homo. . . Just imagine - another man HOLDS UR LIFE IN HIS HANDS. . HIS GLOVED HANDS. . . If not for a referee, you would have DIED. . . Watch it again, he slumps over unconscious, out on his feet.
