I'm from the USA and I thought JC won by 4 points.Hopkins even had to resort to trying to get points deducted from JC by acting like that little tap of a low blow hurt him so much.
You can't throw 1 punch and clinch and win a bout.Jc landed 230 punches on Hopkins.Did Hopkins even land 150 punches?
I actually think it is a very impressive fight by JC as he played Hopkins game and beat him at it.And all these people that are making a big deal about ?Hopkins age:JC is 36 years old and that isn't exactly young!

I listened it on the radio last night, and it sounded as though Hopkins was winning, but after watching it today Calzaghe deffo won by a few rounds. Even the knockdown wasn't that bad in the 1st round, it was just a flash KD, and Calzaghe wasn't badly hurt, he looked pretty clear headed when he got up. On the radio it sounded like he was out on his feet.

How Hopkins could say he schooled JC is beyond belief.

Well you should be thankful you have Joe - he is much prettier :D

It could have been the shot, and it could have also made him wary. But it also takes Joe around 4 rounds to adjust to a style, especially a guy like Hopkins who is unlike anybody hes faced. It was exactly the same against Kessler

i predicted calzaghe Ud but scored it a draw live, and hopkins by a point on replay.

but the fight was close enugh for either to win and it not to be called a robbery.

the beauty of boxing scoring is that it is so subjective....thats why we have three judges

If Calzaghe genuinely lost using the official scoring system, then they need to re-draw the rules.

The only controversy was in Bhops head. You heard the man he thought he made JC look amateur and schooled him.

Compare this fight to a proper schooling like the fine exhibition JC put on against Lacy.

Bhops has lost his mind and is talking tripe.

With all the hugging going on, I thought I was having a dream of PBF fighting Showtime on WWE.

People need to move on from Bhops, he had his reign, made his money fighting blown up LW's and this myth about him being a great has been exposed by RJJ, Taylor twice and now JC (we will ignore the early loss in his career as Bhops says it was not a loss).

At the end of the day that there are 7 pages in reply to the question of controversy... if there wasn't one people would just ignore the thread?

There was no controversy though, unless you put your balls on the line and can't accept that they got lobbed off as you and Dan did.

It was a clear Calzaghe win.

I especially love the irony of Dan claiming Hopkins won that fight after a stupid amount of holding, faking of low blows, punching behind the head, punching when told to break and the headbutt, yet this is the guy who says Ricky Hatton didn't deserve to beat Kostya Tszyu.....laughable.

I just can't see what Hopkins did to win anything more than about 3 rounds?

You cant help but bring me & Hatton into every thread can you? If you're hoping to discredit me whilst enhance your own standing it won't happen mate. Just get over it.

I'm still waiting for people to start posting up their exact scoring for the fight by the way.

    116-111 the second time around

Unless you want a round by round scoring which I'd be happy to do later
