    WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (39-0-1, 29KOs) is willing to drop a few pounds to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs). Mayweather is the World Boxing Council's champion at 147-pounds. Alvarez has no problem facing Mayweather at a catch-weight of 150-pounds.

    this was in 2011:lol::lol:

    I didn't see Canelo or his fans bitching about catch weights to duck fights like Mayweather and *****'s though.

    Yeah fair play to both. Nobody is bitching about it. That is just something Gayweather and *****'s did when Pacquiao had a catch weight and *****'s and Gayweather are now on the defensive behaving in a hypocritical manner.

    No real boxing fan pays any attention to you and the rest of the *****'s.

    I know the Hattons were seriously pissed about Canelo not making weight and he had to pay a pretty sum.

    However Canelo was the draw in this fight, but there was an uproar , which was lost on the thread starter.

    Catchweights for a VACANT world title are absolutely ridiculous.

    Vacant titles are supposed to be contested by two of the best (preferably the two best - #1 and #2 available) contenders at the weight.

    If they can't find two guys who want to fight at 154 for vacant world title, they might as well scrap the division.
