WWF wrestling should be there somewhere, or is it classed as corriography and not sport?

i think MMA/UFC is the same as wrestling?

pro wrestling is considered its own catagory of sports entertainment never cover by espn. a big problem is that the public here in america views boxing as corrupt and fake as pro wrestling is after being stung by the many many tyson-tomato can fights that cost 50 bucks and lasted 1 round. i dont know how it is in the other countries but people are just tired of so many different champ in just about every weight class, promoters for the most part not making matches the public wants to see and a percieved lack of good young american talent

Klitchko is actually Eurasian but I wonder how many Ukranians showed up yesterday?:huh

Compared to Americans and some other countries, Europeans often have very shallow reasons to expresss their pride and thus they excitedly live through the occasional tough guy that bears their nationality or especially ethnicity as did the Germans when their one and only Henry Maske recently fought Virgil Hill. :patsch

It's classified as Sports Entertainment. They don't even cover it on any Sports Network or news media. In the early 2000's it was huge, but it has dropped off tremendously.

At least the hooligans were not "****** hooting" as is usually the case when a man of color enters European arenas. :verysad

And I thought NASCAR was gay???

By and large, us yanks don't travel to support our athletes unless it's the Summer Olympics (in which we routinely kick major European ass). In America we have a little thing called responsibilities which disallows us from jetting off to foreign countries at the drop of a dime to witness an international sporting affair. We also have a little thing called cable (Pay-Per-View, in particular) which works in conjunction with TIVO to make sure we don't miss an event while tending to our aforementioned responsibilites. So while you Brits are flying half-way around the globe to witness some Chav get his ass trounced by an American, we're making more sound decisions with our time and money because we've been brought up to manage both of them well.

I saw one of you guys mention something about "not supporting our heroes." Easy, relax. Wesley Autrey's a hero. Lamon Brewster, PBF, Kelly Pavlik, etc. are boxers. You Brits ought to know how to differentiate between the two. If you guys didn't have your heads shoved so far up your arses you'd realize that a successful boxer isn't a hero, but a celebrity. The two are not synonomous. I can tell you this much, I know I'm not taking any advice on how to cheer for my athletes from some guys who like to get drunk in the stands, sing ***goty songs, and then kick each others asses over soccer?!?! Uhh, thanks, but no, thanks, chief. There's no way in hell I'm gonna be passionate enough to throw a punch over something that ended the same way it started, 0-0. :bart

Amen:good Sometimes, rooting against fighters you dislike as well.

I'm an American and if Hatton fights Mayweather?? I'm rooting for Ricky. I wont hold the ignorance of some Brits against him.
Nationality, has absolutely NOTHING to do with my support of a fighter. It's the heart, will, skill, and character that a fighter display's that gets my support.

if brewster was english, he's be no.1 HW in england, and get all of the support needed to be inspired for a great performance. this is what makes an "athlete" want to do great things.

ali was the last boxer to be supported by fans (worldwide) from america and that is what made him go the extra few yards to win those close rubber matches and ko foreman in africa.

germany is local to western european countries that contain more culure than anywhere else on the planet. can't see why yanks would prefer their cable HDTV's or whater.

I personally have watched boxing or fought in over 30 countries around the globe and have experienced things that you would not be able to understand by watching the discovery channel jack!

apparently, something like 80% of americans don't have passports. so lets say that leaves around 60 million Americans with passports. How many are boxing fans? secondly, how many would be stupid enough to follow Brewster to Germany? That fight was mismatch. damn right their was no support for him over their. It's be a shocking waste of money.
