Well there might have been abit more if Ricky could have been in the fight a little more then he was in the last couple of rounds. Had it been a close descision or something like that there would have been a lot more outrage. But the guy got KTFO. Went out on his sword. All the credit to him. But he was clearly the lesser man irregardless of the ref.

Yeah the big difference is it didn't change the outcome of the Hatton fight. Now tonight.....

    He did.

Main difference being Hopkins clinched largely after throwing a single right hand. But either way, he broke up clinches in Hopkins/clazaghe in exactly the same way. hatton just clinches without throwing anything at all.

You're used to seeing Hatton get away with literally everything so it looked like he was being penalized - he wasn't.

Because Mayweather was a class above Hatton and there was no way in hell Hatton would have won either way.

Thats not the point, though is it? It was still another poor performance by Cortez, his 3rd on the trot now in big fights.

There was a fair bit of outrage on these boards, mainly from Hatton's fans though, and they'll still happily bring it up at the drop of a hat. I don't think you can claim otherwise.

And if the furore is more intense and one-sided now, well that's because Cortez screwed up in a much, much bigger way with this call than just being a bit overzealous with the seperations.

Are you the boxer, 'Peter Buckley'? The guy who fought Popo Freitas and Naseem Hamed?

it was real bad .and i don't know what fight you guys were watching but watch again more than half of those clinches were initiated by floyd not to mention the fluent elbows he was using when the jab wasn't there.cortez was there to give floyd space and he did. last night was just a plain robbery, one man clearly the better fighter but not on cortez christmas list.

cortez is a dick.hatton likes to fight in close and cortez would not let him against floyd.i am not saying that would of stopped floyd lnocking him out but would of made for a fairer fight.

c'mon now...i feel your pain too, i wanted mayweather to lose also.....but hatton was destined to get ko'd.....he comes in with his hands down....any fighter trying to pressure mayweather without using their jab to get inside is asking to get dropped........
