I keep hearing Mosley was old..washed up..but before the fight no one was saying this. People were saying that Mosley was going to KO Cotto. That Mosley was too fast. That if Cotto beats Mosley they were going to give Cotto the respect.

After Cotto beats Mosley. Mosley became old and washed up. You have to love the posters here at ESB.

He is not washed up. But he is undeniably old. He is not what he was when he beat Oscar. Infact he hasn't been what he was since the first Forrest fight over 6 years ago. He has fight in him, but not the same fight a prime Mosley once had. Prime for Prime Mosley murders Cotto.

I don't think anybody realized it fully until after the fight. Not that he isn't still a great fighter (many people thought he won or deserved a draw), but he's not at the performance level he used to be.

I should think any remotely sane fan recognized that SSM wasn't absolutely peak going into this one. He's a shade slower and less explosive then he used to be, everybody knows that.
That doesn't make him shot or really washed up though, and i don't recall anyone saying that going in, nor do i hear anyone saying it now.
He's still a good, world-class welterweight who i'd still give a shot against any WW bar none.

For the record, i was slightly favouring him to win (kinda forgot about Cotto's boxing skills&versatility, which is stupid cuz i always get pissed when people say he's just a slugger).

I said he was old before that fight was even signed. As a matter of fact, I made sure I said that I was mentioning it then, so that no one could accuse me of saying it only AFTER the fight.

Who is saying that now? I'm not even convinced a prime Shane could beat today's version of Cotto. He would be the favorite though.

Mosley is like 36 yrs old but he is still competition. He would give problems to Margarito, Cintron, Clottey, Berto, Gomez, Judah and besides he lost to Cotto but is not like he was KO or anything like that it was a close fight. I wonder what he would do next?.
