I remember when this happened, I was shocked to the core. It felt like the earth had shifted, time stood still and I was in the Twilight Zone. It was inconceivable to me at the time someone like Tyson could lose, especially to someone like Buster.

    How about you?

I was bowling. Some guy game over the bowling alley PA and made an announcement about it, as though there had been some major disaster. I had totally forgotten about that.

I had been watching all Tysons fights up to then, I didnt watch because I thought Douglas would be knocked out in 1 or 2 rounds. When I saw on the news that night Tyson had been Koed I was really shocked.Tyson was on such an unstopable roll at that time undeafeted and all. Tyson fights back then were huge events. Douglas on that day was determined and fought a beautiful fight.

I was 12 , my dad told me before I left for school.

It was the only thing everybody at school was talking about.

It was headline news at 6 pm in the UK that day.

Now boxing doesnt even get a mention in the sports section on the news.

    What a coincidence !

A JFK assassination documentary was playing out in the waiting area of a psychic's office
where I had visited, and she was in a trance, telling me about a dreadful event that would happen
in lower Manhattan in eleven or twelve years time.

The trance was broken when the documentary was interrupted to bring the shocking news of the Tyson defeat.

A harrowing day all round.
