Where were you when Tyson Lost to Buster Douglas?

I was 4 my brother and father watched it i was to young to remember

 

I was 10 and I found out the next morning. My neighborhood friend told me and of course I was shocked. Then that week at school I remember the elementary kids saying stuff "Mike Tyson sucks" and "Tyson lost to Buster Douglas! what a scrub." I remember defending him and saying "Shut the **** up. He'll beat Busters ass in the rematch." Yes I had a mouth on me even at 10.

I remember being quite shocked that Mitch Green made a fist of it against Tyson.ld

We didn't get a live stream on terrestrial TV but saw it on the Sunday,although it was all over the news.

I'm always glad to see people talk about this.It's remembered as the biggest upset,but it's also forgotten that it's one of the most punch perfect displays of tactical boxing ever given(KD aside)
If one man ever made the stars align for one night only,it's Buster and every punch,slip and movement had purpose.
This gets remembered for many of the wrong reasons,but watch how Buster performs and all you pups should imagine what it would be like if Paulie Malignaggi utterly outclassed then KO'd Floyd then times it by a thousand and you'll begin to get an idea of what it was like.

i remember my dad went out that night not expecting a good fight came back to rewind the tape when he got home and almost instantly he knew something was up when the tape wasnt done rewinding after a few minutes

I felt exactly like you did. I was a young teen and Tyson was my hero. I was watching the fight with my dad who was laughing because he was a Ray Leonard fan and liked defensive fighters over aggressive guys like Tyson. That day was Childhood's End for me.:|

 

Me and my brother where at our pops house cheering Buster on,Tyson was a bully and not too likeable back then.

Tucked up in bed pissed up. I had nowhere to watch the fight and only found out the next day. Could not believe it! I dont know if you could have watched it live in the UK. To be honest I did not make that much effort to find out. I think the last fight had been Carl Williams which ended in 1 which I had watched and when they announced Buster as next up I really thought it would be another blow out so was not over interested. My dad told me and at first I did not believe him so he showed me it on ceefax.
