It's funny how often Vitali fans love talking about his greatest ever achievement in the ring which was losing to an overweight, old & past his best Lewis.

I'm sure Vitali achieved other things in the ring but this is the one his fans hold onto the most.

well that's the obvious reply I guess but any real fan knows Tyson respects fighters, he said that about Lewis but the post fight interview tells a different story. that's was his act as a fighter, Tyson is a mellow guy these days and you will get a lot more honesty from him than you will Lewis despite his nutty ways.
Problem is he has done a lot of stupid stuff so that's the kind of obvious response when using him as a stand up guy, maybe watch a few interviews where Tyson is not acting like a maniac and you might realise there is more to his views on fighters

The question is - Why is this thread even still up?

Maybe I should make a LEWIS TKO6 KLITSCHKO thread

its no the obvious reply, its what THE MAN u are saying respects fighters DID.

What you DO is WAYWAY WAY more significant than what you say/think, though they are related of course.

A few points for you pal.

    1. You say he lost. I say he won TD6. And the WBC ordered an immediate rematch. Immediate. Hence Lewis never fought again and was retired by Vitali.

    2. Did you see prime Lewis get sparked out cold by crackhead Oliver McCall in two rounds? Why did he deserve a rematch?

    3. TKO6 = non legit fraud.

Vitali may have been winning the fight, but he most certainly did not obliterate Lewis. It was a good stoppage, and for once I would like to see a Vitali fan admit the truth, although Lennox should have rematched him like he said he would.

I am a huge VK fan and always have been, but I acknowledge that he legitimately lost that fight

but given the outcome, it most certainly warranted a rematch

I think Lewis rightfully saw a potential rematch as too risky, given how tough the first fight was

But he did win the first fight clearly. he was getting to Vitali pretty good( it was more than just one punch that cause a cut, VK had two or three cuts caused by a few good shots

I have watched a ton of Lennox Lewis interviews, I was a fan since the early 90s and still am really, I just don't like his attitude, and certainly didn't after the Vitali fight. he has always had that aloof up himself demeanour with no charm, unfortunately it seems retirement not mellowed him. the most I can say for him is he gave props to Tyson and Holyfield in his own way, but he always has to have a dig somewhere as well. For a retired fighter he is not humble at all, like he is still trying to prove something, its just not attractive. Even massive ego of all time Ali is humble in retirement, very complimentary about his peers in those 80s early 90s interviews.
Its no mystery what I am about as a poster really, I don't post here often but try to be reasonable when I do. For instance I am a big Tyson fan, but am more than willing to see his faults and legacy for what it really is.
