Holyfield wants his name to write forever in the boxing books and history of boxing to remember all time his name. Can he wins again title and where will be rated if he wins once again ?

Assuming the next few months go as I predict...

    CURRENT HEAVYWEIGHTS
    1. Wladimir Klitschko
    2. Samuel Peter
    3. Ruslan Chagaev
    4. Evander Holyfield

All time, it's hard to say

All time? Not sure....it's different now since he won't have beaten the actual champion OR even the #1 HW.

Yah, but Ali was THE World title. Holyfield would be winning a piece of the fractured title, and a piece not even recognized until a few years ago.

Not the same. Not sure if I would move him up or not. If he beat Wlad Klitscho, whole nother ball game. He is not THE champ either, but is rated #1 overall.

He may not move at all is what I am saying.

Ibragimov is a Top10 HW. If Holy beats him he is somewhere at Top8,9,10....

He doesn't move, if you compare to the 'old days' then he will have beaten a decent, Top 10 contender.

I agree that it doesn't move him at all.

I like Sultan, but, in terms of a historical accomplishment, beating Sultan isn't worthy of a blip of a bump on the all time ranking list.

If he wins another belt - even a paper belt - at this age, this should remove all doubt he was the best HW since Holmes. :nod

    get your facts straight.

Holyfield is the only 4-time heavyweight champion.

Ali had 3 reigns as champion.

Nobody has been a 5-time champion heavyweight champion.

I would put him up at 6 all time, he is what heavywieght boxing is all about. You could make a good arguement that he fought some of the toughest competition of any heavywieght, and was able to go strong for over 20 years now, very few if any heavywieghts could say that.

If Holyfield wins his fight against Ibragimov that is about the worst thing that can happen unless he retires immediately because if he fights the wrong fighter he could end up seriously damaged. The onlysaving grace is that his camp have been carrying him and they would toss in the towel the first sign of real risk
