As Ricky keeps reminding us, "Ricky Hatton is fighting for the P4P Championship". I was driving home from work last night listening to the radio and Sky TV were also using this P4P angle to promote the fight.

After getting outclassed against Mayweather and then beating Lazcano and Malignaggi where does Hatton rate P4P right now?

If he loses where would you rate him then?

    Can I be horribly blunt?

I ceased giving a damn about the P4P stuff years ago. If it's important to Manny and Hatton then fine but I couldn't give a tinker's cuss.

if he lost he might stay in the top 20, but even if he wins i dont think he will be regarded as the p4p best in the world cos he is bigger than manny and i think that Marquez will probably become p4p.

    30/40? you are joking?

    i'd say 9th-11th.

    If he wins 4th/5th.

apparently cotto isnt in the ring magazine top 10 so id imagamine ricky will be placed just out of the top 10 and cotto makes it in the top 10

    Depends how he loses.

If he gets humiliated, if he gets thrashed worse then he did against PBF then he drops right down to between 20-30. If Pac pummels him at will and he gets KTFO in the 5th or 6th round then his P4P status will drop like a stone.

If he loses after an awesome war via split decision then he wont move much at all.

right now, the ring magazine have him 8th, secondsout.com have him 6th, bbc have him 7th, etc. If he wins, i think hell be top 5 or four. For him to achieve his dream of p4p no1, i think he would have to beat pac well, then beat JMM well, b-hop retires, and the others, mosely, cotto, etc dont win any big fights well between now and then.
If hatton loses, i dont think he slips down that far. I would say maybe out of the top 10, but top 15 still certainly.

He would have losses to only the best p4p fighters in the world.

Cotto gets beat by Margo who at the time was top 25 and drops about 4 places.

Bhop loses.... nothing. Goes ****ing higher !!

    Hatton loses !! 'OMFG Hatton top 4068 now ! English ***' !!!!

For sure outside the Top 10 - he would have then lost the two most important fights of his career.

I would agree he slips to top 15. However people saying he slips to top 40 is crazy.
