    Wlad will have beaten

    Alexander Povetkin
    Chris Byrd 2x
    David Haye
    Tyson Fury
    Kubrat Pulev
    Bryant Jennings
    Ruslan Chagaev
    Lamon Brewster
    Sultan Ibragimov
    Samuel Peter 2x
    Calvin Brock
    Eddie Chambers
    Tony Thompson 2x
    Ray Austin
    Jameel Mccline
    Davarryl Williamson
    Axel Schulz
    Monte Barrett

I think that's a top 3-4 resume all time for heavyweight champions

Only Ali Louis Lennox have better.

    #5

He needs to beat Wilder and Glazkov for me to then rank him #3.

Big fish ,little pond, dire opposition makes his resume fall far short of top drawer imo.

That's an argument that is getting very old and doesn't have any merit.

You don't stay HW champ ANYTIME in the history of boxing for 9 1/2 years without being a top echelon ATG.

That's random. Glazkov isn't very good. Waste of a fight.

    :good

A win over him does nothing for Wlad's resume.

    It depends on the result!

I think Fury is pretty poor overall with imo poor punch resistance, so Wlad should in my view stop Fury pretty comfortably.

If he doesn't, is that because Wlad is declining? There's the rub for me.

If Wlad suffers a spectacular stoppage loss, his legacy will suffer greatly in the eyes of many...the "anti-Wlads" will say he was chinny all along, he feasted on poor challengers and he would never have beaten a great HW.

Let's see how October 24th pans out...

Wlad's resume will increase once he reties, especially if his next 2-3 successors aren't as good.

If he beats Fury he will have 19 consecutive title defenses. He also has over 50 knockouts. How many pervious champions can boast this? Only Joe Louis.

Wlad is top ten in the history of the divsion right now

    Glaskov isn't enhancing anyone's resume.
Wilder is dangerous so atleast he can say he battered 6'6 powerful glass cannon.

If Wlad can keep beating leading contenders into his 40s and chase Louis and Holmes' record, he's going to push into my modern era top 3 with Louis and Ali, knocking out Marciano and Holyfield.

I don't think Fury poses any threat to Wlad, but I don't think he's terrible either. Cunningham is actually a good win even if he looked very vulnerable in doing so. Jennings is better than Fury though and don't expect Fury to have even a hint of his success.

He hasn't been champion for 9.5 years ,and he has never held all titles and it helps if your brother ,who was the second rated man ,not only doesn't match you ,but knocks off those that ko'd you. You are talking out of your fundament.

If you look at both Fury and Jennings and see a better boxer in Jennings - you truly dksab.

    Hughie Fury would beat Jennings.

Jennings has the skills of a club fighter.

Why don't you beak it down for me - all the aspects of boxing where Jennings is better. Do it.

So far good arguments on both sides as to why he either "should" or "shouldn't" be rated in the upper echelon. Probably end up being one of the more debated about champions in years to come. I think he's up there myself or at least makes top 10. He's one of the few champions in recent times to get anywhere near 70 wins and did so by fighting mostly rated opposition. Holmes and Foreman both compiled more than 70 wins but a lot of them were comeback fights against unranked opponents. Wlad has been the #1 heavyweight in the world for about 9 years and top 3 for more like 15 years with very brief periods of being knocked down the ratings due to the Sanders and Brewster defeats.. He came back from devastating knockout losses to regain composure and resume his success. If we count all of his alphabet title wins then he's already up there with Joe Louis in title fight victories. If we only count the ones since 2009 well that's still at least 12. There have been criticisms that he didn't unify the way that Tyson or Holyfield did, but the obvious observation is that there are more belts today than ever before. Vitali's presence in the division helped to eliminate conquerors or challengers who Wlad might otherwise have had to face or rematch himself and this is a valid criticism. But Wlad can't be accused of ducking mandatories, dropping titles or avoiding tough challenges. He's basically beaten the best available for the better part of a decade save for his own brother and at 39 has more longevity than most champions. right now he's lower top 10 for me. Two more years and maybe 3 or 4 more good scalps and he's top 5. Fury is a good challenge. He's young, big, strong, undefeated and formidable even if he's slow and limited.
