Wlad is missing that win over an ATG, however if he was to beat Fury, Joshua and or Wilder and one of these goes on to dominate the division that will look great on his resume.

I have my doubts about Carnera Sharkey II even being on level. Also if you watch that fight Sharkey showed up looking like he trained out of an ice cream truck. Soft, flabby.

I can only suggest that you watch the film.

When I say watch, I mean rewind and study, any element that looks important.

If you think this era is as good as the 80's ,you are entitled to that opinion, and I am entitled to refrain from engaging with you.

Steve Cunningham is 6'3 jacked 210lb with an 82" reach. Not that small at all...in fact during carnera a era he would be classified as a Giant. That's how tall big and long tyson fury is. Cunningham is substantially bigger than Sharkey loughran and gains.

You also underate his ability. Cunningham beat adamek, an outrageous robbery. He also knocked out long time cruiserweight champion Marco Huck, who would have done very well in the 30s as a heavyweight. I also thought he got robbed against undefeated Olympian Glazkov. Terrible decision

Vitali and Fury share two common opponents, Derek chisora and Kevin Johnson. Fury performed better against both men than Vitali did

I think Cunningham victim Amir mansour fights similar to Carnera both have comparable skill level.

Sam peter won the WBC title after losing to Wlad
Povetkin is currently the ring magazine number 1 in the world with three straight knockout victories
Haye knocked out chisora when no one else could
Thompson defeated top prospect David price 2x
Chagaev is still rated in the top 10 by ring magazine

He dominates his opposition. He beats up on them pretty badly.

This guy is a massive HW with great speed and excellent power.

Fighters just aren't the same afterwards.

Here is the current RING top 10

    Champion Wlad

    1. Alexander Povetkin
    2. Deontay Wilder
    3. Tyson a Fury
    4. KUbrat Pulev
    5. Bryant Jennings
    6. Bermaine Stiverrne
    7. Vyacheslav Glazkov
    8. Ruslan Chagaev
    9. Tony Thompson
    10. Carlos Takam

Wlad has defeated the 1, 4, 5, 8, 9. And is about to fight the 3.

Honestly Wlad has cleaned out the division as well as anyone in history

I'm a critic of Wlad's but I will admit that every year that he continues to dominate, is another year where it's harder to leave him outside a top 10 ranking.

Even in poor eras this level of dominance is extremely rare.

Maybe not in the era of big athletic men,

but put Alexander Povetkin in the 10s 20s 30s and he picks up a title

I also think you underate his opposition. Byrd Haye Povetkin Prime Chagaev ibragimov would be comtenders in any era

I remember Mendoza's attempts to get Vitally Klitschko on the top 20 list, before either brother had actually beaten anybody significant!

He was trying to build up guys like Vaughn Bean.

Is that perhaps where you are at now?
