be ranked p4p today if he was active?

i think he takes out pavlik, and he is high on peoples lists. What do you think he would be capable of against todays active fighters?

At MW he would be a total monster and destroy the likes of Abraham, at SMW clever boxers like Kessler may edge a decision. He would murder the likes of Lacy and other such boxers.

Are the new generation of fighters better???????

the old scool football players were solid, i think fighters are gettin weaker......

like the medi-evil times, they used to fight in metal armor.. no1 would be capable of doing that these days

:? Right. Ok. So you're saying Nigel Benn would rate highly today P4P because men used to wear armour in medieval times? Is that what you're trying to tell us?

not really. A lot of people say fighters have advanced from the old days.. it was a sh*t example from me but still..

i dunno whether fighters are stronger or have advanced from the old days.. nigell benns not that old though

So i dunno how to answer, how would benn do against the new age of fighters

Nigel peaked Super middle not middle- he developed a canny defence and first class counter punching technique. Kessler would not have lasted the distance with prime Benn to suggest otherwise is nonsense.

Whoa whoa hold up cowboys....remember that Benn got outsmarted (ah **** it, outclassed) by Watson at Middleweight and outboxed by Eubank. Oh yes, and he struggled very badly with Wharton at SMW. Benn was never, at any point of his career, a good enough fighter to break the top 5 of the p4p list now. He isn't as good as Pacquiao, or Chris John, or Marquez, or Calzaghe. **** it, Hopkins would still be above him. And it's arguable that Cotto has achieved more already.

Fck Wharton, Fidel Castro Smith beat him easily enough.

Not sure how anyone can say Kessler wouldn't have lasted against a prime Benn when Kessler's never been down in his career. Just think that would be a great fight. Somebody as adaptable as Calzaghe with a sound chin would have the edge though. Hatton is presently rated roughly just inside the top ten and I don't consider Hatton to be any more talented than Benn was

Top 10, because he would be an absolute monster at MW and would be doing exactly what Pavlik is doing, even better in fact, and he's p4p top 10 so Benn should be aswell.

TBH I'd always wished Benn had of stayed at 160, he could make the weight reasonably easily and he was never the same puncher at 168. Whether this was caused by the change in style or he changed style because he couldn't get guys out of there with the same ease as at 160 is an interesting question.

I certainly think he beats Pavlik at 160 and I'm reasonably sure Kessler would last the distance at 168.

    Just my 2p...

I echo that, at 160 he was a MW version of Tyson and had the power to KO anyone.
