Right at the top for me . A prime benn beats a prime JC. Benn would beat Kessler. The thing I love about Benn he was a real any time any place fighter. If been was around today could have had some great fights JC pavlik hopkins ect. But in all fairness would have mullered by Rjj in there day

I think top 10, maybe top 5. He would spank Pavlik early on, in fact he would clean up MW easily, SMW, he would be right up there and second only to Calzaghe, possibly Kessler so yeah, top 10 easily.

Please, I give any fighter with technical and defensive abilities the chance to beat Benn at MW. He's horrifically overrated at that weight. He probably does beat Pavlik (styles) but I wouldn't guarantee that. Winky Wright wrecks Benn any day of the week.

If he were fighting at middleweight today we'd be talking about him and Pavlik and who is better and looking forward to the matchup like a seven year old on christmas eve.

I would love to see that fight.

Nope he don't beat a prime JC. Like Eubank he has the chin to weather the storm and has the stamina to stop him late. It would be a war though.

Winky technically would have been a handful for anybody in his prime. I think your right that he would have beat Benn but it can be a argued that a prime Winky would have beaten Trinidad, Hopkins etc at their primes.

Benn peaked at Super Middle in the McLellon fight... The fight showcased his heart, determination, under-rated punch resistance and his excellent punch selection and counter punching ability. He might not have been Sugar Ray to watch but he would make a mess of the likes of Kessler and Pavlik. JC can't hold a candle to him in terms of technical proficiency but I think JC would have been capable of taking a UD as he has the workrate and beard to maintain the offensive for 12 rounds.

    I put him top ten.

At MW he would rule - clean out the division with the only real challenge being Pavlik who Benn would KO mid to late rounds.

At SMW I think Kessler is a tougher customer but Benn would still beat him. Joe C at SMW for me though beats Benn which keeps Benn out of the top 5 P4P. Good post though! Got me thinking a bit
