When I say "love money" I mean they don't let that **** up great fights from happening. Now does that mean it's never happened? Of course not. But if YOU think that I meant that, you need a wake up call.

 

Why wouldn't I act like them?, when I type away to ******s and get no answer to any of the questions I leave it's pretty much pointless replying. You questioning and judging my actions/responses regarding the ******s of the forum has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion. You asked me something and that was my response and FAIRLY, just like there are situations surrounding Margarito's cases there are ones surrounding Mayweather with legit reasons, as legit as you think Margarito's are. THAT'S what I'm trying to explain here, don't see how it's very complicated or hard to understand.

 

Sorry but that's a load of rubbish. When Mayweather accepts a DLH fight he's labelled a guy who goes for money unlike the true Gladiator Margarito who wants the best and only the best, when Margarito does it he deserves it well enough.

Imma play Devil's advocate here. If boxing wasn't a popular sport in Mexico, then it would open the doors for other countries to be given more of an opportunity. The fact of the matter is, that Mexico has that distinct geographical advantage being next door to the media market that is the US. I mean, all of Southern Cali is pretty much immersed in Mexican culture....so there is already a built in pipeline.

IMO Mexico dominates the lower divisions because it is easier to be "discovered" by promoters, whereas most fighters in the other hemisphere(especially those from developing countries) have to toil mostly in relative obscurity regardless of how talented they are. What wouldve happened to Pacquiao if he didnt purposely go to America looking for a trainer, the way he did with Roach? He practically was auditioning for trainers here in the US. Bare in mind, he was just a dirt poor street kid back thenand to take that chance to come here with nothing but your utmost confidence in yourself takes alot guts and Im assuming all of his finances. If Roach didnt pick him up, he wouldve been hard pressed to find a fight in the American market...and probably relegated with a tag with---just another Asian fighter albeit with an exciting style. Even then, he was just discovered by accident being a 2 week replacement for Ledwaba.

The point is, there are talented fighters all over the world who are just as equally tough and just as able to give entertaininng fights as Mexicans... we just don't know about it coz lets face it, most Americans are Americentric....and we dont know (not necessarily care either)about promising young fighters coming up fighting for centavos in some Godforsaken developing country on the other side of the world.

 

Mayweather went after a easy payday with DLH who was fighting once a year when there Winky Mosley Cotto Margarito etc...

I dont blame guys for going after the biggest payday but at least fight tough opponents before you retire and call yourself the greatest ever

I think the reason I love boxing is because of the different cultural styles from all over the world not one in particular.
