If Whitaker is in the Top10, then I guess that Pacman is also Top10, and Mayweather would be close to the Top10.

    Take a look at this:

Whitaker (Top10 ATG according to this thread's initial post) has beat: Jose Luis Ramirez, Azumah Nelson, James McGirt, Julio Cesar Vasquez and Wilfredo Rivera. This was between 135 and 154 pounds.

Mayweater has beat: Genaro Hernandez, Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Oscar de la Hoya, Zab Judah, Ricky Hatton (I'm not counting JMM). This was between 130 and 154.

Pacquiao has beat: Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar Larios, Oscar de la Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Joshua Clottey. This was between 120 and 147 pounds.

I don't see much difference. There isn't an abysm between them. If Whitaker is Top10 or Top20, then Pacquiao and Mayweather should not be far behind. Period.

PS: And Mayweather and Pacman's career has not ended. In one or two years it will be even better, and it will be impossible to say that Whitaker's career is much better. That means that Mayweather and Pacquiao, both, will be close to the Top10 of all time, just like Whitaker is.

How & why people continue to put Pac over Floyd especially by that much is beyond ridiculous. Floyd has accomplished more and continues to be undefeated. I due however believe Castillo beat Floyd in their first match up but so be it. Floyd had never got KTFO or quit in a fight like Pac. To much hate on Floyd being the superb fighter that he is. He is the face of boxing & the money maker in the sport right now. :deal

Oscar De La Hoya: Does not belong in the list.
Felix Trinidad: Does not belong in the list.
    Pernell Whitaker: Much too high.
    Hearns: Too low.
Duran: A couple of spots too high.
Carlos Monzon: A couple of spots too low.
    Hopkins: Too high.

Pac is currently somewhere around 60-80. Mayweather is just outside.

When they meet eachother the winner (if decisive) will move into around 30 (for Pac) and 50-60 (for Mayweather).

From a P4P perspective, a win over Mayweahter does more for Pac, than a win over Pac does for Mayweather.

putting a boxer in a top 75 ATG list is not hate. mayweather has still got to dominate the welterweight class. like i said if he beats mosley and pac he goes around 40.
however had fmm beaten cotto 4 years ago, margo 3 years ago and berto this year he would have been top 20.
floyd hasnt taken enough risks for me

    What's an "abysm"?

Whitaker also beat Julio Cesar Chavez, if you care to watch the fight.

Does ability come into your thought-process at any stage? It seems like you make your decisions by using boxrec. Pernell Whitaker was head and shoulders above both Pacquiao and Mayweather in terms of quality, does that count for anything in your eyes?

Don't be too sure about that.

Right after Jones beat Ruiz, there are already some who thought of him as the GOAT. He looked so invincible against the decent HW Ruiz that no one would think that any LHW would give him any troublt, let alone on his way down in just a matter of months.
