The sadly all too common mistake Fury's detractors, Brit enviers, and gypsy haters make when it comes to assessing his greatness and his ranking as the GOAT is that they think resumes win fights. If resumes won fights the fighter with the better resume would win all the time. Am I wrong or am I right? I'm not wrong you know If no man born from their mother can beat you how can you not be the GOAT? It makes no sense We know he cannot be defeated via power because he's already bested three of the hardest punchers of his generation, three of the hardest most destructive KO artists in HW boxing history, in Wlad, The Dosser and David Price Wlad has one of the most devastating right hands and left hooks in HW boxing history The Dosser has one of the most devastating right hands in boxing history So does David Price Dillian Whyte is one of the greatest left hookers in HW boxing history. Period And obviously no one is outslicking or outboxing a 6'9'' gypsy as slick and skilled as Fury So that begs the question how on earth can you beat him? By outworking him? Er.. have you seen the engine on him?
Why do you say Wlad isn't great? The guy was the number 1 HW in the world for over a decade, of course he's a great and it's dishonest if you to suggest he isn't a great. Wilder isn't great at all, but he's still a good victory and worth mentioning alongside Wlad, Chisora and Whyte. Again I'd say you probably are being dishonest by not classing those 4 victories as impressive. Chisora has no argument for being Vitali best win, he certainly wouldn't come out on top of any round robin scenario against Vitalis resume. Its very dishonest of you to suggest that he would. Joshua didn't beat Usyk, he lost. Its very dishonest of you to pretend AJ won. So again, in spite of your very poorly crafted and logically flawed rebuttal, my position remained that Fury is round about the Bowe/Vitali mark of greatness.
You've evaded or misrepresented every point I made. When the dust settles on this era, Fury will go down as the best of all time.
David Price? Am I missing something here. Price beat Fury in the amateurs. Many wanted to see them face off in the pros and it never happened.
Even "resume"-wise no one prior to the 90's fought any 6'5 SHW KO artist master boxers, 6'7 one-shot beam you across the ring snipers or championship level southpaws, so in these respects Fury has a far thicker "resume" than historical heavyweights. No fighter in any weight class in history beat two reigning champions with 10+ consecutive defences. And virtually all of them were defeated and would have been defeated multiple times if they'd run the gauntlet Fury has, coming back from the place he did to boot.
You're missing that 17 year old Fury went the full 4 rounds with 21 year old KO artist Price without being KO'd. It further buttresses the case that Fury is not vulnerable in relative terms to power punchers.
I've heard numerous HWs same the same Prolific sparring partner: Adam Machaj Well, one indication lies with the select group of fighters who have exchanged leather will a group of the biggest contenders. One such example is journeyman Adam Machaj. In a 2017 interview with World Boxing News, Machaj revealed that he has sparred with Joshua, Fury, Wladimir Klitschko as well as British favourites David Price and Dereck Chisora. He stated: “I’ve sparred all of them, I was in the Klitschko camp for three weeks. I’ve sparred Tyson and Hughie a lot of times, David Price I’ve done a lot of rounds with, I’ve trained with them all.” The toughest, most powerful and fittest Quite the selection of fighters, no doubt about it and Machaj had different ways of ranking their qualities. He chose the ‘toughest fighter’ from the four, the best athlete and who punches the hardest. Conveniently, four of the boxers fitted into at least one of the four categories. Machaj decided: “The toughest one I fought in terms of ability was Tyson, he’d beat most of the names out of shape now, getting off the settee. He’s too skilful. “He runs you around and makes you angry. In terms of a physical athlete it has to be Klitschko and Joshua, they’re the biggest athletes. “David Price was probably the biggest puncher as every punch he landed hurt, whilst Chisora was good as he was like a little Tasmanian devil, they’re all good in their own rights. Perhaps the biggest comment of note is that Price is ranked as more powerful than three of the biggest names in 21st Century boxing. Price is known for his power, but it’s quite the accolade to pack more punch than Klitschko, Joshua and Fury. However, if anyone would know, it’s Machaj. Price knocked out AJ on his face in the gym Price stopping the then #1 ranked SHW in the world This content is protected This content is protected
I've disagreed with almost every point you've made. The points I've made are the following: Holyfield and Lewis are great. Wlad, Wilder, Chisora and Whyte are all good wins and a credit to his resume. Fury is about the Bowe/Vitali level of greatness right now. In your opinion he might be, I'll just wait and see if he adds to his top 4 victories.
None of the greats before or after him would be able to come back from the industrial abuse he put his body through during his near three years spent in the abyss. Only a gypsy man with god's blood coursing through his veins could rise like a phoenix from the ashes and come back to achieve the impossible
