Where would Hart that fought Johnson rate on Johnson's title opponents list?

Its a tough one.

You hear the ocasional contemporary source implying that Hart was something special but looking at his paper record you just dont see it.

For all the ambiguity of his resume and despite certain results vs these fighters, he is clearly a class above O'Brien, Ross, Kaufman, Flynn and Moran.

If Tommy Burns is alowed on the list then he would have a claim to be better based on the fact that he beat Hart.

If you will not allow Burns on the list, then the question turns on whether an inactive Jeffries would still have had enough left to beat Hart, and whether you like Hart or Willard more.

 

Come on guys, we all know Mendoza´s agenda when it comes to Johnson and thus the intent of this thread. Anyway, Johnson, Willard would rank above Hart for me.

 

How is Hart going to beat Ketchel?
