Where would Muhammad Ali be rated had he permanently retired in 1967 ?

As much as we don't think about it, without Ali, we lose a lot as boxing fans. As you said; "both intentional and otherwise", he influenced so much and gave so much to the sport that everything would be different. Likely even common culture would change.
