Who was Ruiz best win before AJ?
Who was Pulev’s best win before losing to AJ?

Come on, don’t tell me these 2 would be bigger wins on AJ’s record over Wilder, that’s rubbish.

What are you talking about smashed face lol. Is that the fight AJ won hahaha.

You're right AJ struggled with Wlad. I seem to recall Wilder struggling with Ortiz ffs. You know old man Ortiz just like old man Wlad. Also wasn't that Joshua 's 16th fight, who was Wilder fighting in his 16th fight.

You're getting awfully emotional lol. Relax it's just an opinion

Tony Thompson, Ustinov and Dimitrenko were better wins than anything on Wilder's resume Ruiz's win over AJ is better than Ortiz.

Must be winding me up. I know Ruiz's win over AJ is better but I'm talking BEFORE that.

Ortiz Stiverne Arreola Washington whilst none of them are top heavys, are far better than ****ing Thompson Ustinov and Dimitrenko.

Thompson is so bad Wlad fought him twice and he gave Wlad nightmares with his southpaw stance Ustinov and Dimitrenko were unbeaten prospects before Pulev beat them.

    It's a top 3 win

How you rank them is up to you

    Klit, Povetkin, Wilder

It's easy to rotate them around

Indeed - but as much as AJ was close to losing against Wlad, would Wilder have taken that hurt any better?
We know Wilders not a quitter, but he's been hurt and TKO'd by Fury who isn't a heavy puncher and in deep trouble with Ortiz who's far from the most murderous puncher either.

Likewise the Povetkin that Joshua beat was shopworn but came out of the gates with an aggressive high volume pressure that Wilder wouldn't have had space to unload a full power bomb on - the bigger questions would've been how long Pov could've kept it up for and how long he'd have needed to for a TKO/KO?

I'm not saying Wilder would've had no chance, but Wlad was defensively solid and would've been wise to the telegraphed bomb and Pov would've shown an activity level Wilder wouldn't have liked to deal with... It's not hard to imagine both beating him.

I'd agree third at best - it's tricky in some ways because Ruiz is so up and down, the Ruiz that beat Joshua I think would've caused Wilder problems but he's rarely been that version of himself... Parker might've had the chin to weather a bomb or two and won on points, or might not... Whyte again depends which version turns up...

I wouldn't want to argue who's actually third, but "no higher than third" seems easily defensible to me.

Neither Wilder's resume nor his performances put him in the top 5. Should we really be rating fighters by "how good we think they are"? Why even call for good fights at all if that's the case?

So Wlad knocked the man out twice but because he gave him nightmares that makes him better on Pulev’s record than anybody on Wilder’s record? Come on mate. Unbeaten prospects? Malik Scott was an unbeaten prospect once, as was David Price and Audley Harrison….so?

I would say, if Anthony Joshua beats Deontay Wilder, that would be the second best win on his resume.

Difference is Scott had lost to Chisora before Wilder stopped him in suspicious circumstances and Audley got stopped by David Haye before Wilder windmilled through him when he was about 100.

I’ll give you those, doesn’t change my mind Wilder would rank above the wins of Pulev Whyte and Ruiz.

It’s hard to gauge, given that regardless of your opinion of Joshua’s level, it doesn’t change the fact that he fought the guys that the other top guys (for whatever reason) never made fights with.

    Povetkin
    Parker
    Ruiz
    Pulev
    Usyk
    Whyte (Fury fought him)

All of these guys have been around the top of the division during the Joshua/Fury/Wilder era, and only Joshua has faced them. Admittedly Fury and Wilder faced each other, but we can only really base their current levels off of that meeting. It’s really disappointing how many potential fights haven’t happened amongst the top guys. Fair play to Joshua for at least taking on the guys that the others didn’t, for whatever reason.
